Wood Stack Pizza + Kitchen Metuchen

"I have been wanting to go here for some time now and we went for my Birthday.. It’s such a beautiful restaurant / bar spot in Metuchen. The building is very bright, with open kitchen so you can see the old style pizza oven and chef’s preparing dishes for the restaurant crowd. The pizza is a personal size whether you are vegetarian or a meat lover, you find the right one for you. The food is absolutely delicious. We had appetizers, Tuscan ribs, avocado toast and Burrata Del Giorno which all were delicious. We all shared different kinds of pizza which all were equally delicious. The sour dough served in the beginning is wonderful also. Fresh baked! Atmosphere is amazing! Our waiter was good but seemed distracted because we had to ask several times for various things he kept forgetting to bring. It’s a busy place so it happens when you’re busy. Overall this is a wonderful place to dine. Food and atmosphere is amazing. I will be back!"

"There was a good wait for this place so either come with a reservation or be prepared to wait an hour or so. I can imagine it’s longer on the weekend. Walking in the resturant has its redeeming qualities. Pre modern rustic kinda appeal. It’s honestly a nice looking resturant. Now for the food. I’ve been eyeing this spot for a few years now and never walked in but have noticed their parking lot is always full. So you’d imagine the food would stand up to it. But that’s not the case. I ordered a margarita, pepperoni pizza (cuz you can’t mess that up) pasta and a salad. So I’m getting a verity. Pizza was surprisingly mediocre. The ingredients were fresh but were very off in taste. They used a sour dough bread as the base which is not really my cup of tea but if you like it “hey good for you…I guess” personally the bread should not be sour for a pizza. The sauce was also not very good too, very acidic, lacking flavor. So that sour / acidic combo wasn’t very cash money. Pasta was also alright, had the tagliatelle. Sauce was okay. Nothing really to write home about. BUT !! The pasta itself was cooked perfectly and very much appreciate fresh pasta. Salad / Drinks were good so highly recommend that. And ya. I wouldn’t go back but glad I went… maybe for their dessert or cookies, those looked pretty good."

"The pizza was pretty good, a solid 3.5/5. Id recommend the mushroom pizza, though the margarita pizza was okay. I enjoy eating pizza crust but the edges were a bit too burnt for me...but I understand that the burnt edges are as a result of the cooking process. I'd also recommend the rigatoni which was cooked till al dente and the red sangria. The sangria was not too strong and had nice citrus undertones. The chocolate chip cookies were also quite good. They're pretty big and we were able to get them with a side of oat milk. I'll be back. : )"

"I came here 2 weeks in a row because every thing I ordered was so delicious! Ambiance - cozy and warm - plenty of seating - rustic and industrial decor Service - waiters could be more attentive - it was a bit hard to catch our waiter when we wanted to order more food. The waiter Waldo didn't realize we didn't get our complimentary bread yet until we told him Food Came here once for dinner and also a week later for brunch - chicken and waffles: tender juicy fried chicken thigh, waffle was so fluffy! Maple syrup and gravy were flavorful as well. I just wish the portion size was bigger for the price - peppa pig pizza: perfect balance of pepperoni, sausage and other meat toppings. The sourdough crust was thin and perfectly chewy - strozzapreti: I love a good sausage and broccoli rabe pasta and this one is one of my fave because the pasta is also home made - wings: covered in delicious maple chili sauce. Wings were tender and juicy I love this spot in Metuchen and I can't wait to try more pizzas here!"

"It's definitely a great place to hang out and have some good food and drinks. Have been here many times for both lunch and dinner. Heated outdoor space is a plus!"
