"Sincerely, please do not waste your time and visit this doctor! I had a horrible experience with her. I just had my newborn son and we were referred to the pediatrician office where she worked at the time. I thought I was going to see the main doctor who owns the office however Dr. Harnum was the one we saw that day. She entered the check up room with an angry expression and then began to go off on my husband, myself, and our newborn son on how we were 10 mins late and how she couldn’t believe we made her wait on us for 10 minutes of her time. She was very rude, very unpleasant, and extremely unprofessional. The rest of the visit was completely uncomfortable. I just sat there in shock because we never experienced that kind of freakishly weird unprofessional rudeness ever!!!! She began with withdrawal all her frustration and anger out on us on the beginning of our newborns first office check up. I would’ve expected myself to be more hormonal or more moddy than her due to the fact I just had a baby 2 day prior. I wouldn’t advise for anyone to go and take professional medical advice or care under this kind of doctor. I wouldn’t trust my children with her either. She was completely impulsive with her feelings, mood, anger, and judgment. There are so many different ways she could have handle herself but she couldn’t hold herself back and that’s what scared me the most. There are so many excellent health care professionals out there who won’t insult or scold you for showing up 10 mins late with a brand new baby. When the check up was over which lated less than 5 minutes she left the room still upset and never apologized for her outburst. Be careful! Cold doctor. ** We saw her at Crestwood Pediatrics in Manassas however I know she no longer works there and is now at a different office** Good thing for Crestwood!"

"This woman is a terrible doctor. I took my son to her a few times when he was an infant and she was extremely rude and condescending. Would get nasty with me because I fed him Gerber instead of mashing up fruits and veggies by hand. I’m surprised she’s still employed here."

"My adolescent daughter was traumatized by her experience today with Dr. Harnum. She felt violated. The doctor treated her more like my pet at a veterinary appointment than like an individual person with bodily autonomy and the right to say no. I spoke with Dr. Harnum after the appt. since my daughter was in tears, and she apologized and then apologized to my daughter, but my child later expressed that she did not believe the apology to be sincere. Regardless of sincerity, the doctor touched my daughter without gloves underneath her bra without warning, against her wishes and without her permission and also exposed her private area without her permission and without warning. This is not how you treat adolescents. They may not be adults, but they are people. If a child is not comfortable with you looking at and/or touching certain body parts and it isn't a medical emergency, then you don't. If that means you have to write "incomplete exam," then so be it. They don't owe you an explanation. They don't owe you obedience or submission. This doctor needs to stop working with children. She does not provide a safe environment for them."
