"I can't say enough good things about this business. They're absolutely amazing given the fact that it's a small place and there's only two women doing everything. I've been going to them for years. My first experience with them was with a 14 year old Malamute hybrid that would not tolerate being put in a crate and she had hip issues and couldn't stand very long. I had tried bathing her myself when I lived in Chesterfield, and because I had well water and her fur was so thick, I couldn't get all the soap out of her fur and it resulted in her getting hot spots. I never tried that again. When I moved to Powhatan in 2005, I took her to Pet Quarters. They bathed her and dried her and brushed her in small stages so that it wouldn't hurt her and they put her in a room off the side by herself so she didn't have to be in a crate. I'll never forget how much care and consideration they took with her. I don't know if they still groom big dogs like that or not. But she was so pampered by them, and given how busy they always are, I was totally impressed and I never will forget what great care they took of her. We now have two miniature Schnauzers and they need more frequent grooming. Margaret does such an amazing job with them, and both of our dogs always are happy to go inside to see her. This business is very popular and booked up a lot because they do great work and are usually cheaper than anyone else anywhere around too so don't expect to just drop by or even get an appointment the same week that you call. As far as "bed side manner" on the phone, they are very busy. They're more concerned with the care of your pet, rather than having a long conversation with you on the phone. They will answer your questions or find out what all you want done, once you get there and they can see if your dog is matted or what their needs are. Your pet is the most important "person" in the room to them. I'd rather have that, than the other way around since my dogs can't speak for themselves. They are professional and kind and very considerate women and I trust them with my dogs and my dogs like them very much. That's very important to me that my dogs feel comfortable with them. That speaks volumes! You do have to plan ahead to get in, (just like you do for your own hairdresser), but it's well worth it. I highly recommend them."

"My dog Gabriel has gotten groomed at Pet Quarters since he was a puppy. They have always done a great job and are very affordable. My dog is almost 6 and they have never canceled once. They treat him very well when grooming him, and are usually done in a few hours. I never worry when they are grooming him, I know both Margaret and Michelle would never let anything bad happen to Gabriel. For a while I was taking him to Petco when COVID first started, it's just not the same quality. And not worth worrying if a teenybopper is going to make a fatal mistake. When you get your dog groomed at Pet Quarters, know that the money paid is going to two very hardworking female business owners who LOVE animals."

"They have groomed my puppy once. Did not indicate that there was any issue during his time with them. It was his first grooming experence. He was probably 4 or 5 month old at the time. Since then, EVERY appointment I make with them gets cancelled. The first couple times, I was given an excuse. I made an appointment for this Saturday and just received a voicemail telling me they couldn't bath him and that I would have to find someone else. No reason given this time. This is an very unprofessional business."

"I've been going to them for about a year now, and ever since the beginning of me taking my dogs they have been very rude over the phone, however in person they weren't the same way and they did decent AT BEST hair cuts for my dogs. I rescued a new dog and was calling to make a hair appointment for him and they very rudely told me I cannot schedule an appointment for him since they've never seen this "client" and they were so booked up they wanted their regulars to get in. I will happily take my dog to someone who has more bedside manner and knows how to treat their "clients!""
