"In 2022, we called Peg Leg Gutters to clean the gutters at our townhouse, which we had purchased earlier in the year. The front gutter was overflowing and we figured a cleaning was in order. Peg Leg was responsive and sent someone out to clean the gutters for us, and the following day we received an email from the owner, Don, letting us know that his tech who had cleaned our gutters noticed that the front gutter was damaged and starting to pull off of the house. The tech had added some hanger screws at no cost to us to keep the gutter up, and Don sent a detailed account of what was wrong, the likely cause (short shingles on the roof causing water to run onto the fascia board and cause rot) and his recommendation for replacement. As new homeowners, we decided to see how the newly-cleaned gutters performed before getting the work done, and did not go forward at that time. Fast forward to January 2024 and the front gutter was performing poorly and we were having erosion in the front of the house due to overflow. It was only a matter of time before we had a leak or worse because of the issue. I emailed Don back on the original email thread from 2022, letting him know we wanted to go forward with the work he had recommended. He explained that they would need to assess the gutters again since so much time had passed, but that he and his employee would be there to check on it the following day. True to his word, the assessment was done and Don sent me an estimate and recommendation for the work. Don was thorough and honest in his assessment. He did not try to sell us on replacing our back gutter, which was in good condition. He detailed the work needed to fix the front, and recommended screens on both the front and the back of the house. He also later offered to upgrade the screens to aluminum covers at no extra cost. Don also worked with me to make sure the new gutter and downspout would match the colors we were required to keep by our HOA rules. The work was done over two days due to the recent snowfall. The front gutter, downspout, and fascia board were replaced on one day, as that work did not require the workers to be on the roof. Once the roof was clear of snow, the workers returned to clean the gutters and install the gutter covers. We received the invoice in a timely manner and the cost was exactly what we had been quoted with no surprises. I would not hesitate to recommend Peg Leg Gutters for any gutter needs, from a simple cleaning to a full replacement. The work is quality and timely, the assessments are honest, and the communication is clear and thorough. The prices are fair as well. "A few years ago our gutters reached the end of their life and needed to be replaced. After a lot of research, we settled on Peg Leg Gutters for the job and have not regretted our choice. The price was reasonable, and the installation, including fascia board repairs, was excellent. We upgraded to 6" gutters and now have no overflow, clogging, or sogginess near our foundation. Since then we use Peg Leg Gutters for twice a year cleaning, and we are very pleased with that service as well.
