About the Business

Rosewood Arts Center

Rosewood Arts Center, located at 2655 Olson Drive in Kettering, Ohio, is an art gallery dedicated to providing creative experiences through the arts for the residents of Kettering and the greater Dayton area. As a division of the City of Kettering’s Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts, Rosewood offers a wide range of classes for both youth and adults, as well as gallery exhibitions, theater performances, artist studios, and special events.

With specialized facilities including studios for darkroom, ceramics, dance, painting, sculpture, printmaking, glass, and jewelry, Rosewood Arts Center welcomes thousands of visitors each year. The recent renovation was completed in December 2023, and classes for the Winter 2024 season will begin in January.

The institution also hosts community art projects, workshops with artists in residence, and special events throughout the year, such as Art on the Commons and A Rosewood Holiday Arts Festival. Additionally, Rosewood offers an Artist in Residence program, Kettering Children’s Theatre, and self-guided art projects online.

Whether you're interested in painting, drawing, dance, creative writing, ceramics, language learning, jewelry making, or other forms of art, Rosewood Arts Center has something for everyone. The institution is supported by the City of Kettering, the Ohio Arts Council, and the National Endowment for the Arts.

If you're looking to volunteer or get involved with the arts in Kettering, you can visit the City of Kettering Volunteer Office homepage for more information. The Kettering Arts Council, a citizen advisory committee, works to provide access to the arts for all ages and promote art appreciation and education in the community.

Rosewood Arts Center is open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The institution is closed on Sundays and for certain holidays throughout the year. "They are closed! Google says open but I went today and they are closed for a remodel. Always call before you go regardless of what their website or google says. Happens all the time. Great when they are actually open!"

"Love this place! Both of my kids have attended summer camps, and I've been to many events. It's such a community asset, where everyone is welcome from experienced artist to newbie!"

"I just started going here this year and am really disappointed. Every interaction I have had with the people who work here was rude and condescending. They have very strict rules and are more passionate about rule enforcement than welcoming new people and fostering creativity and kindness in the community. I had high hopes for this place and am really let down by the negativity of this space."

"Went there for a dance class for my kid. Cool artsy atmosphere. Looks like a repurposed elementary school. Friendly staff. Lots of classes to choose from"

"I was a visiting artist, so my experience was different. The staff is amazing. Dedicated, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The program is well organized and well prepared. I'm glad to have been involved in an event that encouraged learning in the arts. This facility is well appointed with many wheels and a great Bailey kiln! While clay is my specialty, the center offers other classes in glass, painting, theater etc. etc. Large place. Good peeps!"
