Our newly renovated practice is easily accessible to pet owners throughout the Coastal Virginia area.
At Academy Animal Care, we provide urgent, routine, and specialized care for your pets, including annual wellness checkups, dentistry, surgery, internal medicine, orthopedics, canine reproduction, boarding, and more. Our dedicated team treats your pet like family and strives to offer the best, most progressive care available.
Take a virtual tour of our state-of-the-art facility, designed to provide a comfortable, safe, and welcoming environment for both pets and their owners. Our hours of operation are Monday to Thursday from 7:30am to 6:30pm, Friday from 7:30am to 5:30pm, and Saturday from 8:00am to 1:00pm. We are closed on Sundays, with a lunch break daily from 1:00pm to 2:00pm.

"We are still new here, but so far they are way better than our last vet. Academy has caught small issues in our pets that our last (very expensive) vet missed that could have become bigger issues. They accept care credit, which is fantastic. When I brought in my sick cat, Dr Brown did an excellent job examining her and treating her. You listened and supported us through multiple surgeries (removal of teeth , growth on his eyelid and the removal of his toe), also through his bouts of vertigo and bacterial infections, etc. and helping him cross the Rainbow Bridge. "Academy Animal Care clinic is the BEST Animal Clinic I have ever been to. Dr. Ambrosio is so knowledgeable and patient, but most importantly knows the pet and client well enough to treat them with individual care and based on their needs. She works together to create the best plan for the care and wellness of her patient and at the same time, is honest with her opinion so the client can make the best decision for their pet. I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Ambrosio, the staff and the clinic overall. My pup is my first and I have made so many mistakes along the way and when dealing with other clinics. However, this is the first clinic that I find so easy to work with and truly feel like they care. A few months ago I was thinking about moving and I had already planned to make the one-hour drive back here for veterinary care. You do not find caring veterinarians like this every day.
