"Yesterday was our first experience with the animal care center of Salem. We found out that our cat had cancer and had to euthanize him. The staff here are wonderful. They were kind and gentle with Stephen and wonderful to my son and I also. I would recommend them to anyone! They also could have charged me a lot of money for tests that weren't necessary and didn't. The prices are extremely reasonable and everyone from the receptionist to the vet was empathetic. My son and I appreciate all of your kindness in our time of grief. Thank you for all you do! We will be back with our dog Yo-yo."

"I've taken my 11-year-old rescue Corgi mix here since she was 6 months old, I've taken my 4-year-old rescue cat since I got him last year, and now we've accidentally adopted a 12-year-old Maltese with multiple health issues and I didn't hesitate. Dr Noel got her diagnosed, started the appropriate meds, and she showed drastic improvement in just a few days. You'll never go wrong bringing your babies here."

"We’ve been going here for years. My sister worked here for 6 years. I called to get my dog in for a quick appointment due to some issues she was having. Got an appointment scheduled, went to the vet the next day. I called beforehand to let them know my dog was semi aggressive with other dog. The lady I talked to that time was sweet and said that she would come out and get her whenever we got there (I believe her name was Amanda?). As soon as we got there I called them to let them know I was there and Sherry had such an attitude and told me that I was more than welcomed to come inside. I explained that I talked to someone else and they said they would come and get my dog since she was aggressive with other dogs. She then told me that I had a balance for $164 from my sisters past when she worked there my dog is not on my sister’s account so they tried to wrongfully charge me knowing that we’re family but not on the same accounts. The doctors we have seen there are always great though especially Dr. Noel. I believe a lot of the issues they are having are due to people in the office/ billing part. We will not be returning. Edit to the businesses response since I can’t comment again for some reason. Y’all did not tell me it was from a pet on my account y'all told me it was from when my sister worked there. I would have paid it and would have been seen. So that sounds like Sherry’s fault for not explaining things correctly. Also doesn’t excuse the attitude I received. We went to another vet though and we are happier there. It is also very unprofessional to release personal information like that."

"In short, I cannot say enough good things about this vet office and their entire staff. They are attentive, friendly, make you+your pet a priority, and truly care about the pets they see in their clinic. Not to mention, my dog absolutely adored everyone! I don’t live in Salem, or even in Virginia- I came down from Massachusetts and my dog was in need of vet care (tweaked her leg on the 12 hour drive down) so I took her here. I can’t even count the amount of times I told the vets how much I wish I lived in Virginia so I could bring my dog here for her medical needs!! Everybody there is incredible and if you live close enough to take your pet here for their care, consider yourself LUCKY! I went to Salem for a dog show, and for three days I brought my girl to them for laser therapy. The remaining two days of our trip, the vets would come find us at the show just to check on her, ask how she was doing, and seeing what they could do to help. They were able to prescribe her with some medication for pain management while she healed as well, and when I went to pick it up they even gave her a free toy and bag of treats. They seriously went above and beyond, and all for a patient they knew they would never see again. If that’s how they treat a temporary patient, I can only imagine how they treat their permanent ones. My biggest thank you to the staff, you are all incredible. If I could give you a million stars, I would. PS- Lucy misses you ❤️"
