"We had my son's 3rd birthday here with a wide variety of ages (from 1 to 16 years old) and all the parents. It was SO UNBELIEVABLY FUN!!! Literally everyone had the best time and many of us plan to come back and take lessons! The owners were the most fantastic hosts and were able to entertain everyone. We saw them doing light Saber lessons and it looked really cool! They have real looking light sabers that make noise and everything! Thank you thank you thank you for everything! We can't wait to come back and we also will have a hard time ever topping that party!"

"I can't say enough about how great Empowers School has been for our family over the past 3 years. We attend 3x times a week - with one child who took beginner classes, and another who has gone all the way up to Junior Black Belt. Sensei Ashley and Master Lapointe are patient and encouraging, and they work with every student at their level to help them achieve their personal belt goals. I've seen them go the extra mile time and again. The classes are for children 3+ all the way to adults, with family classes as well that are engaging - teaching confidence, discipline and hard work in a supportive atmosphere. In the past 3 years, Empowers has done the hard job of moving to a new location, expanding to a 2nd school in Lovettsville - while constantly seeing how they can add value with new ways to help students grow. We are very grateful that we found Empowers during the pandemic - when most places decided to shut down. Sensei Ashley found a way for kids, teens and adults to stay connected - and it was an enormous help for our family during that difficult time. "Ms. Powers does an amazing job teaching martial arts to kids and adults of all ages. But so people are privileged and don't have to follow the same rules/principles as others due. I don't understand why there is no encouragement for young kids wanting to try something new; but the privileged don't have to follow the principles and repeat all the benefits.(one kid end up crying for trying their best, while another kid just stood there but they repeated all the benefits) Yes, it's not hurting us physically, but it's mentally draining my kids. Try explaining to a young kid wanting to do something beneficial in their life to be pushed back down and to have to slowly follow the rules through every step(belt). Unlike the privileged skipping multiple belt levels(Parents telling them every step to do), discouragement at its finest."

"This place is AMAZING. Sensei Ashley and Master Paul are wonderful instructors. Ashley is so great with children. She always takes the time to explain and she will make sure that the children understand what they are doing and WHY they are doing it. If they don't understand or need extra help, she finds a different way to explain it, and makes them feel positive about their accomplishments. Sensei is a bright and positive person, and she always makes my children feel better about themselves. She's not a pushover and does hold them accountable for their actions. This dojo is more like a family than anything. It's not about the money or about her enrollment. Sensei Ashley is the real deal, and we are so lucky we found her."
