"I’m so disappointed with this place. Short review: the owner is awful and whatever you do don’t order a family pack. Long review: I’m so sad because my husband and I were really looking forward to finding a local butcher and supporting a small business but we placed an order for a family pack, and put a deposit down on Oct. 2nd and they said it would be ready in two weeks. Two weeks come and go and my husband calls and they say it will be ready the following day. When my husband shows up it’s not ready and is told someone will call him the next week to let him know it’s in. The following week no one calls, so he calls them and is told they couldn’t find his order but that someone would give him a call back the next day. No one ever called so he called again. Every time he called he was told someone would cal him back with an answer. He never got a single call from this place and multiple times we asked for the owner to call us directly. At this point it’s been nearly a month and we ended up just going and getting a refund. After this experience we were talking to some people who have tried it before and they said they’ve heard the owner is terrible. Which is so unfortunate because truly every employee we talked to tried to be so helpful but their hands were tied and at the end of the day the owner failed and this business will too. Don’t waste your time or money on it."

"I never give reviews, but this is the best local spot in the Richmond area. Locally grown, more affordable prices than any store in the RVA, and organic! Wasn't a huge fan of Ashland until I walked in their store. Really hope they prospur and grow to give more people access to local, high quality, and affordable products."

"A great experience! The people were so nice! And wearing masks!! And they had some real cool finds and gems in their store. It was clean and well organized. I got some fresh Atlantic salmon and I have to say it was the best darn salmon I've had in years!!! Worth the hour trip just to get more! Thank you for a great experience."

"Excellent selection of meats, wonderful unique delicious items. Aisles of homemade jams, jellies,salsa, Nice coffee variety. Candies, homemade cards. Worth every trip you will make and I know it will be many.Sandwiches, hot soup drop by for lunch. Wonderful cheerful service makes you look forward to returning.Fresh Produce and frozen case holding , bacon, sausages and all sorts of goodies. Make this your first stop when you visit the quaint area of Ashland it will not be your last! See you at the market,"

"Newly renovated and reimagined while keeping the to the original Cross Bros feel. Tons of fancy local fare tempered with affordable grocery staples and fresh meats. It's almost a hybrid between a local farmer's market/butcher shop and a beloved conventional deli. Full disclosure: my farm sells meat products to this establishment and we are so proud to be partnering with Cross Bros! Kudos to the new management!"
