"My mother had been serviced by Kiana twice. Kiana’s services initially seemed promising at first and she was excited to find a reliable stylist to switch to. Unfortunately, she has a left a bad taste in our mouths. My mom’s 1st appointment, she was slow in responding back to my mom regarding follow up questions but she did not let that deter her from using Kiana as it was her first time and she understands things come up. The second & most recent time is what lost my mom as a customer. My mother schedules her appointments well out in advance, a month plus to be specific. Again, Kiana was slow in responding to questions. Kiana did share she was going through something personal, which my mom understood and was patient. Fast forward to the DAY of the appointment, my mom’s follow up questions were never answered AND ONE HOUR before the appt, Kiana asked can she push the appointment back with a very short and halfway text. My mom had scheduled her whole day around the appointment and had other medical appointments after so a push back was not quite an option. My mom tried to call Kiana several times to discuss workarounds and Kiana didn’t answer not ONE call, nor did she call her back. She insisted on texting with very slow response times only. We understand things come up, but you can imagine how frustrating that is when 1) she arranged her work schedule to attend the appointment and 2) she took out her previous style so her hair wasn’t presentable to be able to wait another few days, 3) then you don’t have the respect or decency to answer her calls or reach out or even apologize and 4) then she gave the impression that she wasn’t really trying to work with my mom in fitting her in the schedule in an inappropriate time manner. Luckily, Kiana agreed to doing my mom‘s hair later that day. When my mom got to her shop, Kiana did NOT do the deep shampooing treatment that my mom signed up for and upon questioning her, she replied “oh, was that treatment on there?”. So now not only did you push the time back, you’re not even paying attention to what services you’re supposed to provide. Upon finishing her hair, Kiana never apologized or addressed the inconvenience and her poor communication. She acted like everything was normal. She did say she would give my mom a discount for her next appointment on the deep shampoo but she will not be returning! It’s one thing if life happens and you have to cancel on a client and you actually own up to it and show accountability but to glaze over it and not be empathetic is totally unacceptable. Also, if you’re not going to answer your phone and text is your main means of communication, then you can’t wait weeks to respond back, especially not on the day that you’re canceling on a client! I hope you can take this feedback as constructive Kiana. I’m disappointed because my mom was really excited to use you as her new stylist and was excited about your scalp treatment you provided as she has a hard time finding that service. Unfortunately that is the problem with our people sometimes, the lack of customer service and accountability is not held to a high standard."
