Nansemond Suffolk Dentistry

"My son went in for a limited exam in August and one X-ray and the dentist recommended a root canal at $718 because we are self pay, not insured customers. I figured that $718 was for everything, that's a lot of money and we went ahead and scheduled the root canal. Now they are saying he needs a build up and crown for $1,040!!!! It's like a punch in the gut! Plus there were no real post procedure instructions given to us after his root canal, we got two prescriptions and nothing else. When you are uninsured, there aren't a lot of options, we're just disappointed and frustrated and very unhappy with this office."

"This office lied to me telling me I had two cavities that didn’t exist. I got a second opinion to find out via X-ray there were no such cavities in my mouth. The dentist mentioned the cavities on his way out of the room, didn’t even call out a tooth number or anything to indicate delay for charting purposes to the assistant. Very suspicious and would not trust this office! It is one of the only offices in Suffolk that accepts the military dental insurance so it seems they have to lie to sell treatment to stay afloat. Buyer beware!"

"One star for the front staff, (It would not be no stars if not for front staff) they are very nice and polite, but that Ramsay does not know what to say to children when their parents or guardians are not there. My grandson is 14 went in for his 2nd visit to this office. Dr. (ramsay) took out 2 needles to numb his mouth, never explained anything, when my grandson saw the needle he said nothing just looked at the needle. This dentist ( I use that term dentist loosely) told him that he has 4 year olds to act better, mind you my grandson never said a word just looked at the needle because he did not explain what he was going to do, then this ramsay (sorry can not call him a dentist, never seen such unprofessionalism) told him that he is not putting up with nothing from a child. Again, my grandson said nothing, but when my grandson came out and told me, I had plenty to say. Be very aware of taking your children here, he has the audacity to say what he wants to children. He give dentist's a bad name. He also taught me not to let him go alone next time. He has no chairs in the rooms for parents to sit in, he must not want parents in there. Never going back, my 1 cent to you is be very careful with this dentist. Again office/front staff very pleasant, but that does not cover for a very rude dentist. Advice to Ramsay, now that you know better, do better. Its a shame how this grown man acted to a child."

"Wonderful & relaxing place to go. It's hard to get kids to go to the dentist and my two kids have no problem going here. I have a son with special needs and they are awesome with him. The whole staff is amazing and easy to work with. Great family dentist!!!"
