"My wife and I stopped by Sawa for the first time and had a great experience. We both love sushi and were impressed with the quality of ingredients and care in presentation. The staff were super friendly and attentive to our needs. AJ our waitperson and Tim the manager, gladly answered our questions and made us feel appreciated as their customers - An uncommon experience these days. Their menu is extensive and we'll be back soon to try more of their delicious offerings. Highly recommended!!"

"The food is really good. We've been twice now and each time we have had a little variety. A sushi roll + a non-seafood meal. The sushi is really good. Some of the best I have eaten. The rice it really nice, not too sweet and not too vinegary. Not too sticky, but sticky enough to hold together well. The rolls are made to order so the seaweed doesn't get soft and difficult to chew. The toppings are perfect. The fish is fresh and well seasoned. The sauces are delicious. The combinations work. The other items we've tried have been really good too. The katsu was crispy, but not overcooked. The veggies were yummy. The curry sauce was nice, though a little sweeter than we prefer. That's personal preference and they offer sriracha. The dumplings and dipping sauce were delicious and the ramen was super fun. Very good broth, especially the spicy pork. The yum yum sauce is indeed yummy. Service the first time we went was 5/5. This time we were greeted by a new employee learning the ropes. And while today's service started at a 3, the rest of the staff quickly stepped in to support their new team member and brought it up to a 4.5. I was really impressed that the staff took the time to coach the new person through the challenges and praise what they did right. I suspect, that while like everywhere else it is hard to find workers, this place probably has low turnaround."

"It's a great little restaurant! The decor and atmosphere were great. Cool things that catch your eye in every direction. We sat in the section separate from the bar, but the bar looked nice, and more seating was available in that section. The staff was super nice and checked in on us often. The food was good! My companions on this adventure really liked the hibachi chicken. Everything was tender and flavorful with good portions. I had the miso ramen and firecracker roll. Both were very tasty! The best bowl of ramen I have had in Virginia. The only thing I was hoping for was a bit more spiciness. Even the Wasabi was a little lacking in the sinus clearing effects, but that's just me. I like a little heat. I'm definitely going back for a bowl of ramen. Go out and give them a try!"

"Food was amazing!!! The lucky Buddha was one of the best "adult beverages " I've had stateside.. must try.. Egg roll was great.. soup was above average.. But service.. We must do better.. When we ordered.. two appetizers.. and entrées.. we got two double everything! Staff was great about it, and were working very hard to serve everyone. Just was a bit disjointed on service, but they'll work it out. Still would give them a 8/10 all in all."
