The building that houses Valley Lunch Box has a rich history, once being the home of Harrisonburg's first mayor, Isaac Hardesty. Construction on the building began in 1848 by the physician, Henry Higgins, and was completed by Hardesty in 1853. Hardesty went on to become the city's first Mayor by charter on March 16, 1849, incorporating the town of Harrisonburg.

"The BEST burger in Harrisonburg. Absolutely the friendliest guy running a little food truck with the some of the tastiest food in town. You order, go hang out with your little buzzer, and when it goes off, your order is ready. Super reasonable prices. Once you eat there, you'll understand why they always so busy."
"Quick pit stop for lunch, was great!! I got 3 tacos + a coke and my total was just under $10. Food came out relatively quickly and they gave me a buzzer to use to know when my food was ready, which was awesome given that it was raining. Definitely coming back here!"
"I must say this "Extremely Friendly and Delicious Food!" This Food Truck Stayed Busy with 4 to 5 cars pulling up while I sat there with My Friend eating Our Order. Delicious Cheese Burgers with Fried Onions and the French fries were Perfect!! We Also ordered a Burrito it was Huge and overly Stuffed with Steak, Beans, Rice, Avocado, Lettuce, Sour Cream and Onions. We Agreed Our Tummies were Full after a Wonderful Meal. If You Never Been I Definitely Recommend !!"
"We are visiting the area and we’re looking for a place to grab a quick dinner to go and wanted somewhere local-decided to try this place. We were not disappointed. We had a burrito and tacos along with some fries and everything was excellent. The street tacos are not very large even for street tacos so maybe get one extra than you’d normally get plus they are so delicious-I wish I had ordered one more! They have a cooler of drinks in bottles and cans too. Great local spot-highly recommended trying it!"
