"If the wind carries just right you'll smell this place before you see it but however you find your way there the visit is worth your while. Not only do they have trucks on site so their meat is on standby, the smokers out front right next to those trucks indicate just how seriously they take their craft and unlike places which hide their process behind closed doors Monk's puts theirs right in the front lot. The staff are kind and friendly and the menu offers several gluten free options. Add to that a bourbon selection which would put many bourbon bars to shame and a desert menu that reads more like a southern grandma's fever dream for Thanksgiving delight and you're hurting no on but yourself is you pass on or outright do not plan a trip out to this great restaurant."

"Very tender and delicious bbq with large sauce selection. The baked beans were some of the best I have ever tried, and all of the things we ordered were great. The brisket and cornbread are especially good! I do think they should have regular cutlery and no styrofoam for environmental reasons."

"We drove 45 minutes to Monk's and it was definitely worth it. I'll just say up front that the food, service and atmosphere were all very good. We got burnt ends, smoked turkey, potato salad, smashed potatoes, baked beans, Applewood smoked mushrooms, Mac n cheese, and greens. The burnt ends were a little hit or miss, as some pieces were just a little too chewy, but the flavor was great. The turkey had a nice smokey flavor, and while it was a little dry, it was great with the Carolina mustard sauce. The baked beans and greens were delicious, but the smashed potatoes had no taste, zero seasoning, and the potato salad was just weird, with a micro dice on everything. The smoked Gouda Mac and cheese was the star of the show, absolutely perfect. We also really enjoyed the mushrooms. Would definitely return to try the pastrami."

"We checked this spot out for lunch one day. It's the toye of place where you go in, order at a register, and then sit at a table. We ordered a variety of barbecue, took a seat outside, and the food was out in about 5 minutes. The meat was all extremely tender and flavorful with an assortment of different sauces (standard fare but all done very well). The place gets VERY busy, but once you try the food you can understand why. If you're in the area, this is one of the best places you can go."

"This is a classic American BBQ restaurant. The food is incredible! We got the brisket and ribs. Both were incredible! The corn bread is insanely good and so soft and sweet. The servers are very welcoming and nice. We had 1 of our orders short a piece of brisket, and they happily gave us another one, no questions asked. Their smoked Gouda Mac & Cheese is easily the best Mac and cheese I’ve ever eaten. Very creamy, smokey and soft."
