Reviews
"Margaret's review is misleading. The child her review is regarding was asked to leave because he hit, shoved and kicked others and would tell Ms. Donna to "shut up". My child was picking up on his behavior. It's a hard situation and I feel bad for the parents involved. However, this was a safety issue when Ms. Donna took the kids to the park across the street. The child would not listen. That said, I am very pleased with Donna's daycare. She genuinely cares about the kids and teaches the children every day, feeds them well, and gives you a report upon pickup on how your child's day was."
"Horrible business practises. This place might rate higher compared to other daycare but their customer service lacks. My grandson was going here for 1.5 years. After he turned 3 my daughter in law mention she was looking at pre school. This is my son only child and all this stuff is new to my son and daughter in law. They were thinking of keeping him in the before and after school program at this place so in the summer they don't have to worry about child care. Well Ms. DONNA filled his yet to be vacant spot right away so they have no missing income . DONNA and her husband DID NOT discuss any exit plans with my kids. Pre school run like regular schools. They start in fall and run till summer. During the summer months you need another care system while day cares run all year. All pre schools takes weeks if not months to enroll a child. Most pre schools are filled for the current school year the prior summer plus you need current medical and dental exams which again takes time. All this not only takes time, but a parent taking time off of work to get it done. So after DONNA replace my grandson, not saying anything to his parents until the yearly daycare inspection was moved from May to February. So on Thursday, February 1, at 6pm. Donna informed my son that they no longer had space for his son as of right now as they were over booked and did not want to get fined. But if the inspection was not moved up, to me it seems like this place was perfectly fine with having more children then what the state legally allows. This meant that Friday, February 2, they needed to find someone to watch my grandson or one of them take vacation days. I live out of state as does my other two daughters. Only one daughter lives in Pgh who not only works but has her own infant son. I had to travel three hours one way to pick up my grandson so he was in a safe environment for the next couple of weeks while his parent who work full time scramble to find a new day care. DONNA FAMILY DAYCARE only cares, I feel about money and not a child welfare. My opinion is that decent loving caregivers do not worry about finances over the hardship that their action created for my son and his family. My son and daughter in law feels hurt and betrayed. I, in my opinion would not recommend this place if you need to have a dependable safe place for your child."
