About the Business

Chateau Hathorn

Chateau Hathorn, located at 33 Hathorn Road in Warwick, New York, is a unique institution offering a combination of bar, food, lodging, and restaurant services. Reservations are highly recommended, and guests can call 845-986-6099 to reserve a table. The institution is open for dining Thursday through Saturday from 5:00pm to 9:00pm, and on Sundays from 3:00pm to 8:00pm, all while following NYS Covid guidelines. Daily market specials are available in addition to the regular dinner menu.

Originally a simple early American homestead, Chateau Hathorn has been transformed into a haven of European hospitality with a rich history dating back to colonial times. The story of the institution begins with a love story between Benjamin Burt and Anna Blain, who settled on the land in the late 18th century. After a long life together, the couple passed away within an hour of each other and were buried on their farm.

Guests can enjoy a gourmet 3-course meal for two for $130, which includes a bottle of wine. Outdoor seating is also available for those who prefer al fresco dining. The menu at Chateau Hathorn features fine Swiss and French cuisine prepared by Chef Dolph Zueger, who sources the finest ingredients from local farms, offering free-range, hormone-free poultry.

With its authentically furnished 18th-century private mansion setting, Chateau Hathorn provides a unique dining experience in Warwick. Whether you're looking for a romantic dinner for two or a special occasion celebration, Chateau Hathorn offers a memorable and elegant dining experience.

"Amazingly fancy, elegant and welcoming all at the same time. Rustic / charming / historic location. The regular menu is fantastic and divers - and the specials are memorable. For a normal dinner, or a special event in one of their private rooms - the Chateau offers everything you could want, even rooms for an overnight stay. I have had numerous dinners as a walk in patron, and never been disappointed. I have also been to 3 different private parties - and twice had a privet dinner in the wine cellar. All have been flawlessly executed memorable experiences. DO NOT MISS!"

"My experience staying overnight in one of their queen rooms was fine. The room was clean with very dated furniture. The bed was VERY firm. Everyone that I interacted with was very nice and pleasant. There were somethings I was able to overlook at first but after thinking about the price, I would expect more amenities for the cost and quality. Breakfast is no longer offered. We did find a keurig out in the hall - that's about all there is in terms of amenities. It was an interesting short stay. For the price I would expect at least a small continental breakfast or at least a better coffee station."
