"I’m a patient that has completed 42 allergy shot appointments in the last 18 months. You would be hard pressed to find a patient more dedicated with more hours and money spent at this practice over that time. Today, I took a 30-minute Uber to my appointment because my car was in the shop. Upon arrival, they refused me my allergy shot because I left my epi pen in my car, which was at the shop. About 18 months ago, the practice manager let me borrow her epi pen when I forgot mine. This time however, the office manager simply refused to give it to me. Now, it was my fault that I left my epi pen and I understand that. What has caused me to write this review and is caused me to find a new allergist after 18 months and 42 visits is the attitude of the office staff and their treatment of me through this process today. The two nurses were helpful in seeing if there was a way for me to still get my shot, knowing the lengths I took to get there (1 hour total drive time plus $50 in Ubers). When they went to ask the practice manager if I could borrow an epi pen, they came back and said, “the answer is no from her”. The practice manager, Jane, then came out to talk with me in a confrontational way (looking for a fight… why else would she come out if she already gave the answer?) and told me to my face that she may have let me or others borrow her epi pen in the past, but that she refused to do that any more because *enter some drawn out story about someone leaving it in their car and insurance*. Essentially, she was informing me I could get the shot today, but it was in her power, and she was choosing for me not to. She was choosing for me to waste two hours of my day and $50. Jane’s attitude is the least customer service-friendly attitude I’ve ever experienced in a doctor’s office. We’ve had run-ins before related to insurance. I put up with it this long because I didn’t want to change doctor’s. Enough is enough. In addition to this, they’ve moved to an online scheduling platform which seems like it’s a benefit, but I’ve learned it’s so they don’t have to manage your shot schedule. I learned the hard way they don’t call you when you are due for scheduling an appointment, it’s up to you. Beware unless you are a top-notch, proactive scheduler. I don’t have time for the back and forth or to be treated this way, so it’s simple - I’m finding a new practice that will value me as a patient."
