"600$ a month plus electric for a tiny 1 room apartment with hardly any closet space, annoying maintenance man that has nothing better to do than type notes to hang up everywhere and slip through your door, pounds on your door screaming maintenance for absolutely no reason once so ever, elevator was broken for 32 days then 3 days after it got fixed it broke again, shower was unusable and broken for 2 weeks during the summer before they even came and fixed it do not recommend living at the Wellman building just an over priced slum hole"

"Windows are dirty, I would clean them myself, but some are broken and can't open or close. It is so loud in downtown area and the windows are so old that the noise feel very real at 1am. When moving in, floors were so dirty that soles of my feet were black. Took me three rounds of floor washing to get the dirt out. I found that they have mice in this building! Moving from out of town, I couldn’t get the actual pictures of the apartment, or a floor plan of the place. Out of four closets two is the closets actually have either a furnace or a boiler in them. So can’t use the two out of four closets. The place has AC and dishwasher and that gets the two stars!"

"We’re just moving in and are starting to notice things we overlooked, and starting to feel the pain from the things we thought we could deal with. Keep in mind this place was recently renovated, so at first glance everything seems a bit more modern, and perhaps even nicer than what you’re used to around the Jamestown NY area. So the biggest issue with this, and many other apartments/flats, is space. Now usually this is a minor issue because (in my experience) there’s typically a small storage area downstairs for things that don’t fit in apartments (e.g. bikes, seasonal items). This place does not offer that. Instead you have closets that are basically useless.(see pictures below) We thought we knew that coming in so we’re gearing up to get our own storage that’s going to be even more expensive than the $900 ($850.00 + $50.00 per animal) for a VERY modest 2 bedroom that doesn’t include utilities. Which is really the biggest issue now that I think about it lol, but I’m not going back to retype it all. Anyway, other than being incredibly expensive and not having any space, the space it does have is taken up by either a terribly placed and flimsy wire metal shelf or it’s actually your furnace , or your water heater is taking all the “space”. So to wrap up the rest of it, they don’t repaint the apartment before you get into it. They just slap the wrong shade of paint over any screw/nail holes/dents/dings instead of actually fixing it. I figured They were showing it before it was cleaned up, but it came as is with a super dingy carpet, marks all over the walls and trim, a bit of old garbage tucked in some corners. Not to mention the atrocious fire alarms in the worst places in the bedrooms. On the plus side, the elevator works, there’s a couple treadmills and a bike machine in a hallway, and a weight room with minimal equipment."

"Jamestown is trying, the Wellman Building, A. K. A., The Gebbie foundation has not. One, yes one maintenance person for all their buildings. No cleaning crew for common areas. The washer and dryers are filthy with years of dirt stuck to the inside lids. Gross! So the 1 maintenance person has to do it all. They charge by the square foot to rent, like it's NYC. It's Jamestown. They may have fixed the building back in 2016, but it's going by the way side slowly but surely. Hoping it doesn't end up like The Jamestown Hotel. So sad all these historic buildings going to ruin."
