"I've filed my own taxes for the last several years, but due to owing this year decided I should get a second look. B & R was recommended by some people in high level roles at the local hospital. I submitted all of my paperwork on March 14th. I thought it was odd to get no response to my email, so followed up to ensure it was received and that everything that was needed from me was included. I was told yes, all was good. I heard nothing for a few weeks so I followed up again on March 25th. I was given a two - three week leadtime at that point. I reached out again on April 8th and again on April 11th as I had gotten no response or communication from the firm. I was told then my return was next in line and that is for some reason something came up an automatic extension would be filed. I ended up having to get the supervisor involved after many more similar situations. I was told to drive out (25 miles one way) to sign my return on April 15th. When I arrived they said they needed a driver's license and that they couldn't file without it. Ok, no problem, I assumed they would just take the license and go file them right then and there. Nope.. they were too busy. I was assured they would be filed by the deadline of the 18th. On the 18th, I was informed they would be filing an extension on my behalf. They just couldn't get to it. On the 26th, they sent me a copy of my return after I had to go back out to their office a second time to sign and pay. On May 11th, I was informed my return was rejected because they entered my daughter's social incorrectly. I went back and verified I had provided the correct number. They messed it up. I was told because an extension was filed, I had until October to submit my payment to the IRS. My payment was received by the IRS on June 13th, the same day the IRS mailed a late notice with over $200 in late fees because B&R actually did NOT file the extension like they claimed they did. And this right here, is the reason I do my own taxes and deeply regret not trusting my own filing this year."

"This review is related to the Greenville office. If this firm cannot handle the amount of returns that Dave handled, than they need to turn clients away. I would prefer to be told that they just cannot handle doing my return. I had an in person appointment the end of March with my return to be submitted. I just had this feeling to call on April 18th, and to my surprise my taxes were still NOT filed. There was no apology or anything. Than today I receive a call from the firm that my return was sent back due to my personal pin number, which mind you I gave them at my appointment. Both issues have been made out to be my problem, Dave would never run his business this way. And I will never recommend this firm again."

"This review is meant solely for the Greenville location. I’ve gone to B & R for my taxes for the entirety of my working life, for 16+ years it was always a pleasure working with Dave Robinson. I trusted him, he knew seemingly everything there was to know about taxes and accounting and never let me down. With the loss of Mr. Robinson, service as plummeted. This year, I dropped all of my paperwork off at B & R the first week of March, was told they’d be filed in 3 weeks (all of my info was in their system from previous years, so it was alarming that it was going to take 3 weeks for a 10 minute process), and that never happened. The wife and I each called multiple times, and were told multiple times that our taxes “are in the pile to do first thing Monday,” and “we’re very busy, they’ll be done by Friday.” The April 18th due date came and went and the wife and I were disgusted, not only with the absurd amount of time this process was taking, but now we were stressing about potential fines for filing late. Friday, April 22nd, I retrieved my untouched paperwork from B & R, without receiving any sort of apology for the severe, inexcusable delay, and I filed my taxes on my own using TurboTax. It was the first time I’d ever done my own taxes and TurboTax made it easy. Highly recommend TurboTax, highly recommend not going to the Greenville location for anything you want done if you’ve got a deadline. Also, if you want things done accurately, avoid this place as well- they managed to finish my parents taxes, but didn’t manage to get my dad’s first name right….. so now they’re stressing out and hoping that this mistake won’t cause a snag with the IRS. The one thing I could appreciate about B & R Greenville is that they saved my paperwork in a folder for 46 days without touching it (aside from date stamping when it was received), and everything was miraculously still there! If you ever need some of your important, time sensitive paperwork stored so that you can retrieve it at a later date and handle your accounting needs yourself, this is the place for you!"
