"I am astounded by the clear lack of respect for the patients. This experience happened in 2022, but I recently realized I never posted this review, because I was concerned about retaliation with my rescheduled appointment. I called the office on January 6th, 2022 to ask to move my appointment because we were forecasted to get 2-4 inches of snow overnight and I was worried about being able to safely arrive at my 8 AM appointment on 1/7/22. The receptionist told me I could do so, but would be charged a $75 broken appointment fee (which is not affordable for many folks, including myself since I was expecting a free with insurance visit). I was surprised and asked if there really weren’t any exceptions made for extreme weather. She said no, if they’re open I was expected to make it there. I said “fine, I’ll find a way to make it” and then she oh so casually mentioned “but if we decide to close tomorrow morning, then your appointment will be cancelled and we’ll call at 7 AM”. The call ended, and obviously I just planned to cut my losses and go to this appointment and never come back again. I got up plenty early because I needed to be on the road by 7 AM to get their in time for my appointment. I had my ringer on so I’d catch it if they called me. They didn’t, so I got in my car and started driving in the snow to get there. At 7:25 my phone rings. It’s another receptionist, calling to cancel my appointment because their staff scheduled to do my appointment can’t get in because they can’t safely make it to the office. I asked why I was being contacted so late and explain that I called to move my appointment yesterday and that they wouldn’t move it and told me I’d know at 7 AM if they were cancelling my appointment. She said “oh, that wasn’t me so I’m not sure about that”. To be fair, it’s not that receptionist’s fault that my appointment was cancelled, it’s this horrible practice’s fault thanks to their absolute disregard for patients’ time and safety. They told me my appointment would have to be rescheduled at a later time. If anyone was wondering, they did NOT pay me a $75 broken appointment fee (oh the irony) or offer any compensation or apology for my wasted time (and money - gas is pricey!) spent on a 50 minute round trip because of their prioritization of profits (and apparently screwing over their patients)."
