"Don't go here. They have no clue what they're doing and they will rob you senseless if you don't watch it. The jeweler they have working here (owner maybe?) is in his nineties, blind, played really dumb, and probably senile. His behavior was so stupid and so blatantly disrespectful it was hard to fathom. He couldn't see well enough to even get around so I really don't think he could see to give even a roughly accurate appraisal. TLDR: untrustworthy entitled old blind man treats customers' jewelry like trash and treats customers just as bad, "lost" my ring, threw it on the floor several times and damaged it while "appraising" it, wasted all that time and hassle just to offer half of the pawn price. I brought in a two ring wedding ring set to sell, an engagement ring with an alligator wedding band. He asked for information on the ring set and then interrupted me as soon as I opened my mouth to tell me the ring set was "not special", as if I were some child looking for his validation. He could not see the stamp on the ring with his little magnifying glass that is visible to the naked eye, the lady working there showed him the stamp several times, (he had no respect for her either) and he just continued to whine that there was no stamp on the ring. He could barely pick up the ring from the counter. He disappeared into the back room with the rings to do the appraisal and oops, old man fumble fingers supposedly dropped the engagement ring in the back and couldn't find it. He came back out after half an hour, told me he lost the engagement ring, did his "I'm just a poor feeble old man" schtick, and proceeded to THROW THE OTHER RING to the ground right in front of me. He laughed at my shock and said he'd been throwing it on the ground in the back so he could see where it bounced, as if he expected the wedding band to magically lead to the engagement ring he supposedly lost. He ended up damaging my rings and loosening some of the stones, probably because he was literally throwing them on the floor. He genuinely seemed to expect me to just laugh it off or feel pity for him and write it off as lost. When we started talking about calling the cops all of a sudden the lost ring appeared. He didn't make an offer on the ring set itself, just the weight, so not only NOT better than pawning it but somehow worse! I expected an offer on the value of the ring set after all that time and fuss. His "appraisal" was supposedly for the weight of the gold and the diamonds, but his offer was half of what the pawn shop offered for the weight of the gold and diamonds and I know the price of gold didn't drop that drastically in the ten minutes it took to drive there from the pawn shop. I think he either just pulled a number out of his butt or intentionally lied to try to severely low ball me. He apparently had no clue what a Montana Yogo Sapphire is and decided that the four matching super rare sapphires were worth nothing since he'd "never heard" of them. Probably the only Montana Yogo Sapphires in the entire state of Ohio, that's how rare these little gems are. He tried to tell me the diamonds were all badly flawed (which I know they aren't) and the sapphires worthless. He swore he'd give more than the pawn shop would, but when I told him the pawn offer he started loudly repeating that I should take their offer as if his advice and his opinion weren't worth less than a kick in the pants at that point. Entitled nasty old fool that definitely should not be handling people's valuable and precious jewelry. I wouldn't even trust him to fix the damage he did. These are tactics used by con men to get valuables on the cheap and it says a lot about their business, work ethic, and trustworthiness that they're using tactics like this."
