"I've been coming here for at least a decade and wouldn't have it any other way! There's the rare goof-up, but those are few and far between. Mostly it's dedicated, enthusiastic students (Meleana rocks ✨) who just want you to leave their services feeling good about yourself. The spa services are just as awesome. If I ever relocate, I would search for the nearest Aveda Institute. Why would anybody not take advantage of this?!"

"I think it's disgusting that the students aren't allowed to accept gratuity. The students are all hardworking young adults, putting themselves through school & often raising children at the same time. They put in long hours & strive to grow & come into their own. I have been a client since the school was the Hair Academy back in the Austintown Plaza some 50 years ago. & I have never met a student that didn't give it their all. It baffles me that the owners wouldn't want their students to accept a little money & maybe grab a bite to eat, that they wouldnt otherwise have, during their really long days. To me, it feels like utter greed on behalf of the owners & they should be ashamed. I cannot, for the life of me, understand it. After a span of 5 decades, which began with me getting my hair done with my grandmother all those years ago, I will no longer give Casals my business. I enjoyed giving the students a canvas & watching them master their craft. Best wishes to each & every one of them. To the owners, just shame on you."

"Halle did a wash and style on me today & i couldn’t be more happy with how the braids turned out. She took her time to ensure they were tight and secure. The wash was great & she made me feel like she genuinely cared!! I will absolutely be scheduling again with Halle!"

"FOR POTENTIAL STUDENTS (Speaking as a past esthetics student) 2 stars because I did, in fact, pass Ohio State Board of Cosmetology testing. The staff trains you to pass state board. Some were very kind and reasonable, others...even if they weren't your instructor...were extremely unprofessional and wildly out of line. I've heard (in speaking to other professionals in my short career) that no matter where you go, that's a shared experience. However, it seems that if you have the opportunity to go to a cosmetology school that allows you to assist/intern at a salon/spa, that's absolutely what you should do. Microdermabrasion was almost off the table as it took several months to get the machine fixed, it was almost not fixed and we were told we would have to pay for additional certification if we would like to come back when the machine was fixed. We were taught theory on high frequency and galvanic current, but never application (we were allowed to on each other but it wasn't encouraged?). Makeup is not taught, just expected. Use of the steamer was not generally encouraged? Things I did not learn: Bikini/Brazilian Wax Brow mapping/shaping Makeup (not an issue for me, but it's expected and not really taught - other than airbrush) Eyelash lift Eyelash extensions (not expected, would have appreciated guidance for additional certification) Brow lamination Dermaplaning (not expected, would have appreciated guidance for additional certification) Things I did learn: Massage (relaxation only) Facials Facial Waxing Leg / Arm Waxing Hope this helps."
