"If I could possibly rate this 0 stars I would have! The BCBA and RBT that was hired through our school district were completely incompetent. The RBT took no time to pair with my son or follow simple RBT techniques that would have helped them to build a relationship. Instead the tech just let my child do whatever it was that he pleased. She had absolutely 0 control over him. When a 5 year old dictates to staff, that's an issue. Her job was to come in and help facilitate play between my son and his peers. She failed to do so. Many photos I saw of my son in class he was strapped in a chair given Legos. Not interacting with the class like he should have been. When he wanted a walk or to go to the sensory room she just allowed it, effectively putting him in control. Because of their lack of knowledge the district now wants to send my son out of district when this could have been avoided with the proper 1/1 support that we had asked for. But hey, Devereux came in the cheapest (YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR) Mind you the RBT tech was sending home daily reports never mentioning any issues leading me to believe things were going well. I was shocked and appalled to find out otherwise. Had the tech reported back to me correctly I would have immediately asked for an IEP meeting to address concerns and remove the tech RBT from working with my son. I have come back to edit my review. After realizing most of the issues were because a lack of communication on the schools end. We are hoping for a more open line of communication this year. They did provide an RBT during ESY that was amazing with my son. I am hopeful they will have a tech for him this year that he will create a nice bond with. I do have a new respect for the BCBA, I am saddened that the school let things get so far out of hand. I like to stay on top of my son's care and have communication daily and open and honest. When I reached out to the supervisor at Devereux she was very helpful as well with my thoughts and concerns. I will definitely come back to update as the year begins. Updating 5 days into having Devereux staff working with my son for the 23/24 school year. Not only are they alternating new RBTS techs which feels likes they are setting my son up to fail, they are refusing to let me meet anyone that is working with MY child! Which is completely unethical. I was hopeful this was going to get better but see that it's clearly not. I would caution any parent about using their services and monitoring closely if the school contracts them."
