"Full disclosure, I work at Hopkins, but this review is not for all the times that I had a craving for the Chicken Santa Fe on wheat (which is amazing) but it is for the time I was here as a wife who's husband was headed for the cardiac ICU. Those of us who work here know the staff here are rude with no eye contact unless they are rolling them, but we do it because the food is good, but only if we have the time to wait. Being in this line, with my elderly mother, while my husband was in recovery was a whole different experience. I know how to navigate the forms, I know which line to be in, but the rudeness that I have become accustomed to was a total embarrassment to me as an employee when seen through my mother's eyes. Visitors think they are employees, because why would they not? If I ever behaved or treated visitors, families or patients that way, I would be no longer be employed. As employees we joke about the rudeness, but it really isn't funny and reflects really badly on the institution."

"Good options, they are great . However, the staff are horrible and rude. The cashier bordered on disrespectful on Sunday 12.2. If you know who it is she needs an attitude adjustment. Really just here to visit a friend giving birth. A simple question should not instigate a rude attitude for no reason. Unacceptable, I forgot to add that the same woman was equally as rude and disrespectful to my friend that had went into the store after me. I didn’t know it until we were sitting down and talking and she was like wow they really need to work on their customer service."

"I ordered the soup, it was OK. I would have rated higher if I was judging the food alone. Unfortunately, I am rating my experience as a whole. The soup was a three star, but the staff knocked those off pretty quickly. In fact, I gave this place a 1 star only because there wasn't a lower option available. I used to work customer service. I feel people sometimes forget how important it is to treat others kindly. You never know what someone is going through and if you're unable to do that then you shouldn't be in a position that requires you to interact with others. It's not hard to smile, take an order, serve said order, offer assistance to someone who obviously never been there before and is a little lost. I don't understand how the staff are so comfortable snapping or ignoring everyone. I waited for soup entirely too long and staff kept telling me to fill out the form. After staring at the form in confusion for several seconds, the server rolled her eyes and went to the next customer. After a while she finally told me to fill out the card and the type of sandwich I wanted. I told her I was there for soup and she finally decided to take my order. I'm confused as to why she thought I was waiting in the soup line for a sandwich, when there is a separate sandwich line. Did not get an apology and I'm certain she didn't care that my time was wasted or that my feelings were hurt. Nobody likes being treated in a mean way. Had I known I'd leave feeling this way, I would have skipped the soup. It wasn't even that good and no worth the headache."

"I waited 38 minutes for a chicken and goat cheese sandwich, paid almost $12 for it, and there was LITERALLY NOT ONE PIECE OF GOAT CHEESE. Such a huge dissapointment. Years ago this was such a great sandwich shop. So dissapointing. You lost a customer today. I work at Hopkins and I plan on telling everyone I encounter NOT to purchase food there if they want what they ordered and paid for."

"Horrible customer service and overpriced. There were at least 4 employees "working" when I stopped by yesterday - 3 behind the counter and one at the cash register on her phone. I wanted to grab a sandwich and cup of soup, but every time I tried to order I was told I did it wrong. No one would help me even though there were very few customers. One employee kept demanding I pay for my sandwich and when I asked for a cup of soup, I was brashly told to wait. While waiting, another employee demanded I pay for my sandwich and I again asked for soup and was ignored. This happened several times. $19 later, I left with cold soup, a pre-made sandwich and high blood pressure I didn't arrive with. When I mentioned the experience to my doctor, they said they would never go there because the employees at Balducci's are rude and demanding to everyone. Hopkins should be ashamed of themselves for allowing this type of service to its patients and employees. As a patient, I come to Hopkins for care not to feel abused by disgruntled employees. After reading reviews, I'm seeing this is a long-term problem that is not being addressed by management."
