"Front desk and all personnel were excellent. I had leg pain from a lower back nerve pressure. Dr. Kemp was my surgeon and we worked through several modalities to a hemi-laminectomy which at least at 3 weeks post op I could not be more pleased with the results. I think I was well informed of all options and had detailed evaluation going into the treatment and all previous work-up to the surgery. I would recommend my team, Dr, Kemp and the spine institute with no reservations."

"RUN FAR AWAY. They will tell you they accept your insurance and then they tell you that they are out of network. They don't accept what your insurance company says you owe out of network and jack up the price higher. For example, my insurance said I owe $644 yet VA Spine institute will only accept $1033. They push surgeries and are just a factory. Find someplace else in network! Maybe if they spent less on their pretty space they would be able to accept what insurance pays. Also they charge a $100 facility fee just to get an injection. Go to National Spine and Pain center and they don't charge a "facility" fee."

"I was very pleased with my visit and treatment at the Virginia Spine Institute. They accommodated my schedule and the facilities were top notch. My treatment was thoroughly explained and my healing is exactly as described. I can already sense improvement and am excited to have avoided surgery. Thank you to all at VSI."

"I went to an appointment there to find out about artificial disc replacement. I was told that because this was a private consult, and I was paying out of pocket since they don't take insurance, that the doctor would explain everything to me and it would not be rushed like the appointments where you use your insurance network. None of that turned out to be true. The doctor was very insensitive and seemed rushed. At least half of the appointment time was wasted on the PA and doctor trying to sell me stem cell treatments. I kept telling them that I did not want stem cell treatment and did not come there for that. I felt like I had to pay them to sit and listen to their sales pitch, and it was truly a sales pitch. It was my time and if I had come to listen to a sales pitch, they should have been paying me. They told me that I was not a candidate for surgery due to another medical condition that I had. Okay, fine, so be it. But then they said I should get all of these other expensive tests and come back and see them. I said something like, "What is the point of those tests and coming back if you can't do the surgery?" Then they had all these other reasons as to why I should do that. They said it would establish a baseline. Maybe things with my other condition will change. I said that if my other condition changes, I could have the tests and follow-up then. They wanted me to have what they called a painful procedure where they inject dye into your discs so that they can then proceed to stem cell treatments. I told them again that I did not want stem cell treatments. The doctor made disparaging remarks about the 2 other spine doctors I have consulted with and both of those spine doctors are quite reputable. Quite frankly, it seemed like they just wanted me to have expensive procedures that I did not ever say I had the least bit of interest in having. It was really somewhat off-putting. I was told that I would have this unique personalized experience but most of the time, the doctor was not even around. For the brief time he did meet with me, he insulted me, told me that I was not a candidate for surgery, and then suggested all these other expensive tests and procedures that I was not interested in. Nothing about this appointment was confidence inspiring."

"My experience at the Va Spine Institute with Dr. Good as my surgeon was life changing and he completely got my life back to where it was before my injury. Having a herniated disc and then complicated with a bone spur on the disc left me incapable of walking. The sciatic pain was completely crippling and my mobility was totally gone. An active grandmother and an individual who loves being outdoors, this situation was untenable and I knew I had to get this taken care of. Upon reading all the wonderful reviews as well as seeing your state of the art facility my decision was an easy for me to seek your help. The experience at Va. Spine was second to none. From the first time I visited with Dr. Good I knew I was in excellent hands. The surgery was virtually painless because every aspect of this procedure could not have been more perfectly done and executed. I also took advantage of the centers therapy which as well was outstanding. In conclusion I thank god daily for everything that your center did for me and would 100 percent recommend to anyone."
