"Beauvoir has the best playground in the city. The school schedule does not follow DC Public School schedule so it is helpful to understand the open hours stated at the playground gate. Do visit this playground after 6:00 on weekdays or any time on a weekend as it is amazing! Most DC Public school playgrounds also don't allow neighborhood kids to play DURING school hours. Cathedral security will ask you to leave if you come at the wrong time though they do try to be polite as they enforce the rules they have been told to enforce. We love the tower slide, and my kids really enjoy tree top town where they walk through enclosed rope tunnels between tall structures. It is a good playground to build your child's brave."
"Understanding that there was a high chance a that any school in the "national cathedral system" would lean toward the "elitist" side of things- I searched the website (no Facebook page that I could find) for whether or not I could bring my kids to the playground during DCPS Spring Break. All I found was language about how welcoming the community was. Well- not 5 minutes after arriving we were asked to leave. You would think that if protecting their pampered students from the copious dangers of a DCPS 5 year old was so important to them, they would figure out a way to inform us of that fact, especially the week of spring break."
