Hunterdon Ski and Snowboard

"Hunterdon ski and snowboard should be your first stop this year before tearing up the slopes. Their staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. They may not have as large a selection as other stores but what they have is consistently of the best quality. I have rented skis for the season for the past 4 years now and will continue to do so solely because they render the process so painless! Not to mention their rental pricing is so inexpensive it's practically a steal."

"I worked at Hunterdon Ski and Snowboard for 4 years, was a lead manager, and did a LOT for the company. When the time came for me to set off on my own career path, they treated me with upmost disrespect and fired me on the spot because they didn’t want to pay me any longer than they had to. Fast forward to today, TWO YEARS later. I drop my snowboard off to get a tune and they DENY me service simply because they want to be petty? I don’t understand it. Definitely lost respect for the owner and management even more after this. They have been extremely childish in the past and even more so now."

"I brought my brand new skis here to get bindings mounted on them. After paying $300 for new bindings, they returned my skis to me with bindings that were clearly used (knicks, scratches, discoloration, and different color metal). Not to mention, when I looked into the bindings they sold me, they were from 2014. I'm not a gear expert so I didn't realize at the store that they were so old. I told them to take off the bindings and am now stuck with brand new skis that have holes in them. Obviously not ideal for structural integrity, water could get in, and the resale value is diminished. I brought the skis to another shop who looked at the holes and said they were misaligned, were different sizes, and it looked like the incorrect screws were used. The holes can be patched up, but these were brand new expensive skis. The manager said he would call to discuss the situation but has not. I feel like I was snookered into a 10-year old pair of used bindings, they put them on with poor craftsmanship, and now I am left with skis with holes in them."

"I brought my board here for service and got a snowboard/boots rental as well. The service was perfect and was impressed with their work. However, the staff is highly disorganized. No one knew what was going on or what boot/snowboard size we needed. They gave us a board that was way too heavy for my boyfriend’s height and weight. He was miserable trying to use it. When I brought it back, the staff had no idea what was going on, took the board, and walked away without saying a word. I will not be returning. Go to Pelican down the street"

"Getting concerned over this shop. Used to be you could find a great selection of ski clothes here No more Used to be they had a wider selection of skis, boards & boots No more Used to be a great selection of secondary gear for boarders & skiers No more Used to be you rent gear the entire outfit was changed out for fresh gear No more Even used to be the people in the shop were amiable. Today, it was like pulling teeth. The selection in this shop was quite good, it's a fraction of it's former self now. Good luck folks, hope you weather whatever it is that's been reducing you to this & come back better."
