"My daughter attended the Baltimore Montessori in Locust Point from the time she was able to enroll (18mo) until she started Pre-K this past fall and we cannot be happier with our experience there. She always looked forward to going to “school” where the teachers/staff all knew her name and greeted her with a smile. They genuinely care about the kids and I am so thankful we had the opportunity to send her there. I highly recommend The Baltimore Montessori to others who are looking at their options in the Fed Hill/Locust Point areas. Montessori is different from other teaching methods which took some getting used to, but my daughter benefited from being in a class with a wider age range once she moved to the primary classrooms. The learning method gave her freedom to learn a variety of subjects from practical life skills to geography. The children sometimes worked in groups to teach each other concepts or learn together. I enjoyed seeing my daughter so proud to show me the words she learned, a new activity she masters, or how she can cut vegetables by herself with a special cutter (although that still makes me nervous). She gained independence and confidence in being able to do things herself. Teachers were always willing to chat for a few minutes if I had questions about what she was learning and skills we could practice at home to reinforce lessons as school. During the 2015 snow storm management worked very hard to make sure the school could open as much as they could without it being dangerous for the children or teachers/staff to get there. Like anything else – I encourage people to visit the facility, talk to the teachers and parents who have/had children at places you are considering and if their parenting styles align with yours. We were very happy with our experience and highly recommend it."

"We have been sending our children to the Baltimore Montessori Canton location for the last 4 years. Our oldest child had been there for 4 years before starting Kindergarten this year. He has been extremely prepared for the work that has been given to him at school and left the Baltimore Montessori doing easy multiplication and reading. We could not have been happier with his progress. Our second child started there a year ago (at 20 months old) and has been in the toddler room. He is thriving in the environment and loves all of the teachers and staff. He started out with a slight language delay to 2 weeks into starting and no longer needing additional speech services. We are looking forward to having him at the Montessori for another 3 years. The teachers are loving and warm while understanding they need to be firm and authoritative. The office staff is responsive and polite when emailed or called directly and will help you with any questions you have in regards to your childs care. They go above and beyond with having special days for your children. International Day, Thanksgiving dinner, Magic show before the Christmas recess, Mothers Day Tea, Fathers Day Breakfast, Summer picnic (pony rides, face painting, super heros, balloon animal making, steel band, etc). They also plan actives for your children all summer long - Friday water days, Dentist visit, Fireman visit, zoo animal day, etc. They truly make it an enjoyable place to send your child to school. In the 4 years we have been sending our children to the Baltimore Montessori, I have never worried about their care."

"We can’t say enough good things about the Baltimore Montessori and we have a unique perspective in being able to evaluate the school. Not only did both our children spend ages 2-6 with the school, but our nanny was eventually recruited to become one of the assistants at her school and our son’s teaching assistant was eventually recruited to become one of the full time Montessori trained teachers. We witnessed the way the school and its administrators fostered the careers of future young teachers from the ground level up. We chose the school after visiting several preschool programs and one of the things that helped us make the decision was the longevity of her core faculty. These teachers and assistants had been with her since the school’s inception and it was a quick way for us to assess the stability of the program and the depth with which the teachers understood the mission. We are abidingly loyal to the Baltimore Montessori and the administrators, both for the care her staff took in growing our children, but also for the effort she put in helping our previous nanny and other young teachers, grow. Our children blossomed at the school far beyond what we would have thought that 5-6 year old kids were capable of. In our opinion the teachers and assistants are 100% responsible for turning our kids into polite, independent, inquisitive kids who love to learn new things. They are taught how to accept challenge and how to work in teams and these principles are underscored regardless of whether it is play time or yoga time or they are doing math and reading."

"We had our daughter at The Baltimore Montessori for 3 years (ages 2 through 5), and she blossomed under the guidance and support from the entire staff. Her teachers were integral in every step of development - from potty training to reading - and our kiddo was more than prepared for Kindergarten at her new school. We found the teachers and administration to be thoughtful, caring, and responsive to our needs. If you are looking for an intellectually challenging, yet nurturing environment to help foster independence in your kiddo then The Baltimore Montessori is an excellent choice."

"After 5 years, my wife and I have only wonderful things to say about The Baltimore Montessori. Like most parents, we wanted to provide our kids with an early start to children education. we weren't sure of the difference between Montessori programs and others, but heard wonderful things about The Baltimore Montessori and decided to give it a try. The best decision we ever made. We could tell right away the positive impact this was having on our child. He started to develop a curiosity towards learning while having a blast interacting with other kids. The staff was amazing in providing a fun, safe and nurturing environment. After 2 years we enrolled our other child - wanting the same enriching, educational experience. Many benefits were significant and obvious. Both developed a solid foundation in math, reading, spelling and writing before graduating from their kindergarten program. As an example, our youngest, who just finished kindergarten there this past June, was doing multiplication and division - something most 2nd graders get introduced to. Once our kids were being tested as part of the application process for 1st grade in a new school, it was clear what a strong foundation they both had developed over their years at The Baltimore Montessori. My wife and I will be forever grateful to the owners of the school and to the wonderful and well educated teacher. Our children will continue to strive and be inspired thanks to The Baltimore Montessori."
