Takoma Park Animal Clinic

"It pains me to say that I no longer trust this clinic with my pets. I've been taking my cats here since I moved to Maryland in 1991. Since Dr. K passed away, the clinic seems unable to keep staff (they rely on "floater" vets & only Dr. Carey is regularly there it seems). The last time I took my now 12 year old cat there, I was not allowed to be with him in the exam room, so I specifically requested to be with him when I scheduled today's appointment and then specifically asked that when I arrived. I was told that they would need "the vet's permission." They kept me waiting 45 minutes and then came out, with the cat asserting that he "fractious" and "angry." When I asked why I wasn't allowed to be with him, I was told that I would have to tranquilize him before any further visits. I'll just find a vet that actually works with me rather than against me."
