"Wow, what an absolute nightmare. I originally avoided posting a bad review after our terrible experience here because we were given a refund for the wood stove we purchased (but not the 1k+ installation fee) after we reached out for what felt like the 100th time to complain directly through the store. But now our poor installation has left us with a ceiling leak and an ADDITIONAL 1k+ fee to fix through another company since we no longer trusted this one. We’ve lost thousands of dollars correcting our mistake of shopping here. Kitchen Hearth & Home gaslit us the entire time, and continues to, never genuinely caring or apologizing for our experience. At one point, our entire house kept filling up with smoke (we have a young child) to the point of staining our walls and leaving ash on her toys. Though they claim this was from wet wood, we’ve now had our new stove for almost a year and have never had this problem. If you are looking to purchase a wood stove, please go somewhere else for your safety and your wallet!!"

"I wish I could say I had a great experience. Everything was great up until the end, when a used pellet stove that was clearly stated as $2500 turned into $2995 with a large installation fee and parts fee, causing it to be a total bill of $4000, of course presented once the stove was already installed. All of my savings have now been flushed down the toilet for a pellet stove that we are just trying to install in order to sell the house, which I'm not even sure we can right now seeing as our moving budget is gone."

"10 Years ago the owner of this place tried to screw us over, use a bait and switch on one of the parts we DID NOT order, yet it came with the stove. it cost more and swiped it out for what we did order (but still tried the added cost) and claimed: "I can charge you what ever I want to charge for what ever part I want." Was never on time with deliveries because gas went up that year and after charging us for a pellet delivery want us to come get the pellets. Now 10 years later we are having troubles with exhaust system. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!"

"In mid November, 2017 I called Kitchen Hearth and Home to ask about service on my Hunter fireplace insert that was 19 yrs old as I was having an issued with the flame shutting down intermitingly after burning for 10 minutes or so. I talked w Sue who indicated Hunter is no longer in business and if parts were needed, they probably could not be obtained. Sue indicated their technician could evaluate the problem and also clean the unit to see if improvement was possible as this would be least costly approach. We scheduled an appointment for the next week. Dan, the technician arrived as scheduled, was very courteous and began to evaluate the problem including measuring voltages at the electric valve. Found that our old remote control receiver unit was still hooked up and it was drawing the voltage down. He disconnected the unit and voltages held in the proper range. He proceeded to thoroughly clean the unit including the glass inside and out. The unit has been working well since we had the service. We could not be more pleased w the service we received. Dan the technician was most knowledgeable in his approach and the service was cost effective for us. We have trust and confidence in Kitchen, Hearth and Home and recommend it to others.
