"Went in to buy a smoker, no boxes so help seems to be required. When none was found I went to the front to get some help. I was told they’d send someone to help, which they used their radio. After waiting 10 minutes for someone to come I just gave up and left. The store was not busy as I saw plenty of employees doing what appeared to be inventory, which seemed to be a higher priority. No point in going here if it’s this mismanaged, there are other places in town to go."

"WOOW…over 77,000-square-foot store brings an exciting wide assortment of sports and outdoors merchandise to the Fredericksburg area. This marks the sixth store Academy has opened in 2023. Academy plans to continue its expansion efforts with the goal of opening a total of 120 to 140 new stores by the end of 2027. The wide assortment inside this HUGE STORE has something for everyone, whether you are a first-time angler looking for a rod and reel, an avid runner in need of new shoes, or a little leaguer gearing up for gameday. Academy will sure make kickstarting your sports and outdoors activities fun and affordable at prices I haven’t seen before!!!! Also, fans can find tailgating essentials, licensed apparel and novelty items. Additionally, customers can find a tent for a camping trip, cleats and soccer balls for that next team practice, and everything from grills to games to create a backyard oasis. And to top it all; Academy offers free services such as grill and bike assembly, scope mounting, bore sighting, and line winding/spooling. Customers can also purchase hunting and fishing licenses in the store. When you enter the store; you feel with real genuine customer service and true value through the store. We met one of the managers; Michelle. She was genuinely warm to welcome us in the store. She pointed out several specials that were outrageously cheap with an amazing quality!! Other staff throughout the store were wonderful and eager to help us find what we needed!!! We ended spending more at Academy simply because the prices were better than anywhere else. I’m glad we stopped by. I feel like we made new friends and NOT ANOTHER BORING SPORT STORE OPENING!!!! IN CONCLUSION: I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SPORT/OUTDOOR STORE. You’ll be amazed with the customer service as well as the selection and if you want the same excitement that we got in the store; all you need to do is when you walk in the store ask for the manager Michelle!!! SHE WILL MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE YOU ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT CUSTOMER IN THE WORLD!!!! If you don’t believe anything I said; all you need to do is check it out for yourself!!!!
