Ashbridge Preserve

"Muddy but that's understood; in general there just isnt anything memorable to see, and doesnt hold up compared to other nearby Preserves and trails. Lots of new saplings planted, which is good, but doesnt make for great scenery."

"A sign at the entrance says dogs are allowed, but I found the trails to be not very dog-friendly, and barely even human-friendly. It's a pretty nice walk up to a certain point, but after crossing the second set of stepping stones, I found the trail completely and totally overgrown and basically unwalkable. I couldn't believe my eyes when a signpost marking the yellow trail told me to just walk straight through a field of tall grasses with a barely discernible path. I had to just turn around and leave after only 5-10 minutes of hiking. Maybe in fall or winter it would be doable, but in June I couldn't even see the trail. They either need to maintain the trails a little more or just close the yellow trail during the spring and summer months. That said, I'm still giving it 4 stars because what I was able to hike was very beautiful and very wild, and I'm sure that this place existing is amazing for the wildlife and ecosystem. Just not really for human hikers."

"A great place for a little summer "creek stomping" with the kids. We enjoyed the paths, though found some of the loops confusing. But small enough you can't get very lost. We tried to do the "GoWilma" but I think the engraving is missing from the post. Still, a good excuse to get out to thus beautiful, peaceful place."

"Great trails through mostly woods but also a open grass field and stream. Great for bird watching or a quick flat hike."

"It was a really nice walk to have. I went with my dog and she loved it. It was a little bit muddy but there were duckboard so you didn't have to trudge through the mud. There are a few creeks to cross with stepping stones and its a nice place to go for a short walk :)"
