"I spent several hours over the last 2 days paddling my kayak on Frances Slocum Lake. The weather was sublime and the fall colors are beautiful."
"Great state park that's only minutes away. We regularly go fishing and hiking the trails. We've gone group camping, have attended several parties there. There are picnic benches and BBQ pits already there. Clean facilities. There are families of geese around and lots of other birds to bird watch. Beautiful place with plenty to do and see."
"Camping sites are small, have to move the heavy tables to have a flat spot for a large tent. Restrooms were clean. Other campers were quiet. Had a hard time using the boat launch to exit the lake due to people fishing there. Rangers patrol the loops just enough to make you feel safe."
"All parking spots are taken up by group camping so plan accordingly if you have a walk up camp spot. Group camping isn't always used. The park itself is beautiful and well maintained. Spot 87 was nice. Plenty of bathrooms throughout the park. Showers for camping are a bit chilly but definitely warmed versus straight cold water."
