About the Business

Manassas National Battlefield Park

Manassas National Battlefield Park, located at 6511 Sudley Road in Manassas, Virginia, is a historic site that commemorates the two major battles that took place there during the American Civil War. On July 21, 1861, the first Battle of Bull Run, also known as the First Battle of Manassas, marked the beginning of a long and brutal conflict. The following year, in August 1862, the Second Battle of Manassas saw the Confederate army emerge victorious, solidifying their power.

Today, visitors to the park can explore the fields and monuments that mark these historic battles, gaining a deeper understanding of the sacrifices made by those who fought there. The park also features a museum with a collection of artifacts and exhibits that tell the story of the battles and the soldiers who fought in them.

For those unable to visit in person, the park offers online resources to explore its museum collection and learn more about the Confederate victory at the Second Battle of Manassas. Whether you are a history buff or simply interested in learning more about this pivotal moment in American history, Manassas National Battlefield Park is a must-see destination.

"This was a visit that brought a lot of history to life. To have been at the Battlefield Park at the end of September 2023, with the heavy clouds, was really a rich experience. I also purchased a two books from the book store, one of which is slave narratives."

"Interesting, historically accurate and moving. Gazing upon the area you can feel the spirit, the camaraderie and the dedication of the brave soldiers who lost their lives fighting for freedom."

"This is a nice simple park to spend time at. There's a lot of history associated with it and they play a movie in the visitor center. The staff is friendly and there's a big parking lot. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here but if you're in the area, it's certainly worth a visit. Would recommend!"

"Manassas Battlefield Park is beautiful maintained. The Visitor Center is excellent. Highly recommend the movie prior to touring the Battlefield. Very clean restrooms. The gift shop has an excellent variety of books. Recommend doing the driving tour if this is your first visit. Recommend a visit to Mathew Hill to see the two naval 12 pound howitzers that was used during the battle."

"We took the grand kids to explore the battlefield. The guided tour was terrific. The ranger was enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the battle, especially the context (our tour covered the 1st Battle of Bull Run). The visitor center has a great museum and the movie about the battles was extremely well done. I would caution that the scenes are very graphic and parents may want to discuss the movie before/after if your kids are 14 and younger."
