"This review is LONG OVERDUE! Right after the September 11 , 2001 attacks my planned vacation brought me to Northern Virginia, to visit my brother then continue on to Pinehurst NC afterwards. It was a planned road trip which was good because as during that week all air traffic was stopped across the country. I traveled from South Florida to Springfield by car and I can remember every mile on I-95 north was like rush hour in any city everywhere. Springfield Golf and Country Club was a beautiful well kept and challenging course. I was lucky enough to be paired with 3 members that were very kind and accomplished players, willing to offer advice on the subtle variations of the course. One awesome thing I remember were the flyovers of military jets in the area as I believe I played Thursday September 13 and no other aircraft were in the skies which being so close to Reagan National and Dulles was quite noticeable. The hospitality extended by SGCC is something the staff working there should be proud of."

"My friend brought me here as a guest to play a round of golf. I was very impressed with the course conditions as well as the course layout. The course was a lot more difficult than I am used to, which is a good thing. The staff was very friendly. After the round we went and ate half price burgers in the restaurant. They were very flavorful. What a great experience."
