"They potty trained my kid! When my daughter started summer camp here at 3.5 years old, she understood the concepts and procedures of going potty but she just refused to do that. Within a couple of weeks my daughter is willing to go potty by herself! Thank you Christina for all the care and love and magic!"

"This is a great school who has really supported us as a family and enabled our children to learn through exploration and outdoor play! Our experience here as been and continues to be nothing but wonderful with the helpful staff, wonderful teachers, and caring owner/director. Our children's favorite activities include playing on the large firetruck (the one closest to the driveway) and watching the chickens. In the summer they LOVE going down to the stream. We couldn't be happier and would recommend it!"

"We had a Horrible experience at Hunter Mill Day School . If I could give zero star I would . The school management is awful and the owner is very rude and unprofessional. Future parents be aware that if your child is hyper and full of energy this might not be a right school for you. Otherwise they might ask you to pay more or pick up your child early .. unbelievable right ? So let me start by saying that we were in waiting list for a while before the start of new school year. Meantime we enrolled our son in another school. Eventually we were able to enroll in Hunter mill. However, several weeks before the school starts we contacted the owner and explained that our child is hyper and discussed his history with her and asked if we can pull out our enrollment since he was already enrolled in another school and that our plans for him had changed. . She told us we can’t and she assured us that she can handle him and we should not worry. We said ok and he started the new school . Few weeks after Sharon ( the owner ) contacted us and told us while our son has adjusted well in school he runs around a lot and is very hyper and they can’t handle him since they don’t have enough staff… She asked us to pick him up 2 hours early prior to their closing at 6. We were very shocked by this unusual request and said we are unable to do that since we are both working during that time and that’s why we enrolled him fulltime there. She told us the other option would be for us to hire someone from outside to come and supervise him for 2 hours or hire a teacher from school and pay them ourselves since she does not want to pay the teachers overtime herself . We were speechless . We have never heard something like this and asked our friends that have worked in day cares and other school and they also thought this request is outrageous. She was basically discriminating our 3 year old son based on his ability . As a head of school over 100 students she should be able to handle variety of children from with different skills and abilities and should know that not all Children are the same . We eventually gave our 60 day notice to remove our child from this school . We paid the school monthly at the beginning of the month . To make the situation even worse, one day before the end of the month we were told we can’t bring him the next dat since 60 day notice is over. We thought that it’s so petty since we paid for the full month and she should have not asked us that. She was extremely unprofessional and was very rude toward our family and very unsympathetic toward our situation. We would never forget our experience in here and we won’t recommend this school to anyone !"

"This preschool is a great environment for the kids with a great staff. Just go take a tour, you'll see why people love it so much! There is an extremely unusual abundance of outdoor space for the children to enjoy including 4 different playgrounds, a garden, an amphitheater-shaped hillside, a stage, & a barn with many different kinds of farm animals. Get yourself on the waitlist! They have preschool classes during the school year (daycare in the afternoon for older kids too) & cool summer program with different themed weeks."

"We are so happy here. I transferred my daughter from another local preschool and she is thriving. I feel they've done a great job of challenging her without overwhelming her. The staff and other families are very warm and approachable. We found that it is considerably less expensive than other preschools in the area... particularly when you factor in that there aren't any additional charges for activities. And they get to ride horses every week! We are really looking forward to sending our son here next year - and absolutely recommending it to all of our friends with preschool age children."
