"I grew up around Rippon Lodge, but it was a private residence then. I was thrilled to visit it now that it is a museum. We visited on December 1 st so the house and grounds were decorated with Christmas through the Ages. The displays were fascinating. You can easily decide how much time to spend as the house is average size, but the grounds are huge and there’s lots of space to explore."

"This time we went to see the ww1 and wwii tents and tables set up with all the different things that the people would have at that time. It was awesome, they even had Jeeps from that time period. We love the garden too."

"This lovely house has a happy feel to it, really enjoyed its history and has beautiful grounds to walk around on. Our tour guide was very friendly and patient to let me and my take in all tye rooms of the house and answer any questions we had. This is definitely a hidden gem!"

"An historic property with a great history. Lovely, relaxing grounds. Great guide. He obviously had a passion for the history of the home and we had a lovely private tour. Sorry I can't remember his name. A must see. Across from the entry is a fantastic park for kids, exercise enthusiasts and the Neabsco Boardwalk. A great day trip!!"

"Beautiful grounds, not crowded at all in April. The house is closed and reopens in May (through October) but you can see the inside through the windows. You can feel the age and energy of this old property. I didn't see a ghost (I wish I did) but it's nice walking around and getting a glimpse of how life was like back then. Great destination for kids with parents or students."
