"My husband, daughter and I enjoyed a birthday meal at the Mariner on Labour Day weekend and we are already planning a return soon! First, do not let the plain street facade trick you: the stylish-but-easygoing vibe inside and the stunning lake views more than makes up for it. Food was delicious and clearly made with care. In restaurants, it's often the simple things that are the most difficult to get consistently right but the chefs here definitely knew what they were doing! The fries were thin, crispy and perfectly salted (just like you would find them at a French brasserie) and the broth accompanying the steamed mussels was just INSANELY good. Service was attentive and we really felt welcomed by the friendly owners-managers Brandon and Theresa. So do make the drive (from Plattsburgh or elsewhere) and check it out for yourselves if you haven't already. This restaurant is a gem! N.B. If I had to suggest one thing, I guess it would be to consider adding a few more intimate tables to the large 6-person family-style setups. This would be a great spot to visit with a small group or for a special date."
