Cross River Preserve, located at 291 Maine 27 in Boothbay, Maine, is a part of the Boothbay Region Land Trust (BRLT), a nonprofit organization dedicated to conserving the natural habitat, scenic beauty, and working land of the Boothbay region for the public benefit. With over 30 miles of hiking trails, visitors can explore meadows, forests, wetlands, and scenic vistas free of charge year-round.
At the visitor center at Oak Point Farm, guests can learn more about BRLT, obtain maps, purchase merchandise, and sign up for educational programs. The organization hosts over 100 free events annually to connect people of all ages to the land and promote conservation efforts.

"It was just thawing out and very muddy. Do not bring dogs until dryer. Paths are not well marked but it seems busy but not crowded. Quick 1 hour hike"
"Beautiful views of the sunset over the Back River with an easy 1 mile loop hike that crosses nice footbridges over a running stream. I was there on a cold day as the tide went out and heard the ice cracking as the rocks peeked thru."

"Cross river preserve is probably one of the greatest trails in the region its a nice relaxing hike out to a amazing vantage point that takes you along the edge of a river. There are Also 3 stream crossings with makeshift log bridges with amazing opportunity for pictures. Well maintained in the summer months but like with any trail if you decide to hike it in the winter ware some good boots or hiking shoes and bring some kind of jacket thats good in the wind. Did that recently when we got to the river the wind gusts were in the 60s and sustained at about 25-40 but that's only in the winter or on a stormy day."
