Harvard Yard Child Care Center, located at 25 Francis Avenue in Cambridge, Massachusetts, is a non-profit early education center on the Harvard University campus. Our goal is to provide a warm, safe, and stimulating environment where children, parents, and our professional staff can thrive. Inspired by the pedagogy of the schools of Reggio Emilia, we take a developmental approach to our work with children, drawing from the foundational thinking of Vygotsky and Piaget.

At HYCCC, we believe that play is essential for children to develop new skills and make concepts their own. Our teachers create inviting and flexible classrooms that are responsive to the interests of the children. Curriculum is developed through observation, reflection, and documentation, with a focus on building a community with children as the primary focus.

We work in partnership with parents to create an atmosphere of cooperation, respect, and appreciation for each individual in our community. Founded in 1971, HYCCC is committed to providing high-quality early education and nurturing environments that support the whole child. Our program is core value-driven, and we build connections among community members to prioritize the professional development of our teachers.
