"Employees at the store were great- however not fond of the way DSW handles exchanges you can’t get a store credit for a different item.. I went to get an exchange of boots (same boot and size but diff color ) my bf ordered for me from DSW online I wasn’t really happy with the color so I called the 1800# prior to driving an hour to the store , I was told I could get a store credit and get another color boot or different kind by going to the store I found the same pair in black (I get it’s a diff shoe technically because it’s a different color ) well apparently I can’t get a store credit for an exchange , you have to put the money back on the card then swipe that same card to “repurchase” the shoe.. which I didn’t know until I was asked to swipe my card I used online This would be totally fine if I had the card the boots were bought on! Well now the $200 is out back on a card we don’t have because my bf does not believe In bank accounts (to each their own) and buys those lovely reloadable cards when he needs to buy something online . So I am explaining that we don’t have the card, my bf puts just enough for what he’s buying and tosses them as he rarely ever orders things anyways.. & The male employee working tonight (Saturday night about 7pm ) was on his way out, overheard and stopped to help. His shift was over he had no obligation to stop and spend 15 20 mins on the phone trying to figure out what to do.( He was able to figure out a way to resolve it I just have to come back Monday ) we would have been digging threw the garbage for the card if it wasn’t for his help with the situation, so I really appreciated his time tonight! Honestly the point of me writing this whole thing really wasn’t to complain about the way DSW does things , it was to positively acknowledge the male employee that went out of his way to help me tonight ! (The two ladies working tonight were also very friendly as well so not taking anything from them ) I didn’t get his name so this was the only place i could think to let the store know ! Now I am aware of how the exchanges work and left with a positive experience from the store thanks to their employees tonight !"
