Mainely Bicycle

"Looking for something different to do in the Kennbunk/Port area? How about renting e-bikes for a half-day... My wife and I had a great 35 miler in mind that takes us along the ocean many times, passes by farms, conservation land, unique general stores and much more. We ended up calling Mainely Bicycle (Chris and Eugene) as their place is right off our bike path. Not only did Eugene nicely setup the bikes for us, but Chris helped tweak our planned route with the local knowledge to avoid some busy roads. We had a nice stop in Cape Porpoise for lunch and really could have done much more as the e-bikes had plenty of battery power unlike some other rentals we had done in other cities. Seeing the area by bike is FAR better than by car as you don't need to worry about parking and can easily stop whenever you want to check out some cute shop (my wife's idea) along the way. If you need suggestions on the perfect route for you, just ask either Chris or Eugene to have them plan one out for you. While the e-bikes weren't "top of the line", for the area (not many hills) they were well matched, well maintained, and matched with very comfortable (spring) seats. My wife and I are now retired and really enjoy renting e-bikes in our favorite towns as we can see a lot more and still have some energy left in our legs for visiting the local ice cream shop or brew pub. All in all, a great day of biking and we couldn't have been happier on our choice of renting from Mainely Bicycle."

"I highly recommend Chris and Mainely Bicycle! I was only in Maine for a few days and my bike was shifting terribly after being stored over the Winter. I thought I wasn't going to be able to go on any of the rides I had planned for the short time I was there. I called Mainely Bicycle and Chris, the owner, told me to bring it in. Chris immediately put it in the stand and identified the issue as a cracked shifter cable housing but, even worse, a bent derailleur hanger! Chris replaced the cable housing and, using a special tool, was able to straightened the derailleur hanger! He adjusted the front and rear derailleurs until the bike was shifting smoothly. The next day I took it on a 50 mile ride out to Nubble Light and it shifted like a dream!"
