"Back in March I filled my gas tank although failed to realize they charge twice the amount then the actual total. The original total was $26.00 and they doubled it to $52.00. These guys are crooks and I will never go to them again. But they will not get away with it."

"Overall not happy and would not recommend, would give half a star if I could as they are good in a pinch if you are local, stuck and need help quickly. However I'd recommend finding a trustworthy auto place for your long term and maintenance needs. End of 2016 was told I needed to change my brakes asap as they would not last the winter. I was getting suspect about their suggestions by this point (was going to them about 3 years) and just decided to hold off until getting another opinion. Another honest and reliable auto place that I now use in another town just told me my brakes are fine and I have about another 5,000 miles on them, this is one year after what Cooks (or Crooks) told me. My new car guy also showed me how the crooks at Cooks didn't use a Toyota filter and how they crushed this cheap version it in to make it fit. They also explained how they did something else wrong and how it could have been a real problem but I can't recall the details of that as I was still fuming after seeing this crushed filter. Cooks had also replaced some expensive air filter that I then later found out didn't really need replacing and this was after I told them to please not do any work unless it was absolutely necessary to the functioning of the car. They didn't ask my permission they just replaced it, unfortunately I just paid like a good obedient customer, shame on me, true enough. My new auto guy calls me, tells me the price of something and asks my permission to move forward. I also twice had to ask Cooks to remove the charge added to my bill to fill my windshield washer fluid, as I had just filled it right before bringing my car in for an oil change. Only a few bucks, but still, that's a few bucks in their pocket and not mine. Why did I use them for a few years? I was very busy and kept putting off finding another place, they were convenient and that fact made me lazy. Buyer beware! If you need to use them then I suggest asking for proof of genuine parts and having them call you before they do work, get pricing."
