"I waited, and slept on my experience before posting to be sure it was fair. I’ve been a long time shopper of Michael’s and have been to this location many times in the past. I drove the 25 min to pick up some items and use a $5 voucher. My first concern was regarding the needlework section. They have no kits at all any more. And the floss, bobbins and needles are in a wholly separate location from the Aida cloth and hoops. It took me several minutes to find the small section of cloth and hoops after finally locating the floss. Both selections were disappointingly small and I only picked up a pack of bobbins. I wandered the store a bit more. Passed several employees out on the floor, not one of them offered a greeting or asked if I was finding what I needed. Finally, I headed to the checkout, which had been changed to self checkout. I’m not a fan of self checkout but I dealt with it. Until it wouldn’t take my coupon. I scanned the barcode. I entered the code, I scanned it again. Tried entering the code again. No matter how I put it in the system kept telling me the code couldn’t be found. I hit the button for assistance which lights up a small flashing light at the top of the register. I guess this light is too small to be seen by the person at the end of the counter whom I assume was there to help people checkout. I wouldn’t know since he was making no effort to look at the people who were checking out. I waited several minutes but no one came to assist so I cancelled the transaction, piled my items next to the register and left. I did comment to the person on the end that it would have been nice to have assistance but it was fine and I was leaving. - in my mind if you are going to force customers to do their own checkout then the least you can do is react to an issue, not force them to track you down to fix an issue that would have been easily resolved by simply having registers to check customers out. I have never had such a trip to a Michael’s ever. I was extremely disappointed in pretty much every part of my trip. I would have gotten over the needlework section, many craft stores are downsizing this and forcing us online, but the complete lack of customer service is another thing entirely. I will not be back to this location and will have to seriously consider future trips to Michael’s all together."

"What we shopped for was there. We needed felt and custom framing for an old stitch work . The man at the custom framing was very helpful/knew what he was doing with color choices and frame work. He also applied discounts which helped alot ."
