Martinak State Park, located at 137 Deep Shore Road in Denton, Maryland, is a beautiful recreational facility and natural area for all to enjoy. Established in 1961 by George Martinak, this park is surrounded by forests, fields, and marshes, with the Choptank River and Watts Creek bordering the area. Visitors can fish for bass, perch, sunfish, and catfish, or explore the hardwood and pine forests along the river.
The park offers modern campsites, boating access, hiking trails, a playground, shelters, and a nature center. Pets are welcome in all areas except the shelters and cabins. The "Healthy Parks Healthy People" program encourages physical activity in Caroline County and western Maryland, with healthcare providers prescribing outdoor activities in state parks.

"Stayed a week in a cabin. Rangers kind in helping to get A/C unit to work - no buttons just touch the unit for it to work. Cabins are compact, safe and dry. If only the plastic covered mattresses were thick enough to actually sleep on. I didn't sleep a solid night there. This year I'm bringing a fold up mattress to put on top. Otherwise great vacation. Wood is easy to buy and recycling is easy to drop off."

"This was a happy gem to find. The bathrooms are very clean! For those coming in RVs there are plenty of spigots for water. Do make sure you check the flow of the one you pick as some of them would take forever to fill your rig. There is no sewer hookups and as of September 2023 there is no sewer dump and you will need to go to over to the next state park to dump."
"Great little state park, plenty of playgrounds for the kiddos. They have a nice new kayak launch but their dump station is still closed for renovation."
"Beautiful state park campground. Shady. Large sites. Nice distance from neighbors. Electric sites or no hook-up sites available. Plenty of water pumps available. Boat dock w canoe and kayak rentals available for $15. Fishing. Volleyball court. Horseshoe pit. A nature center with kid activities. A theater for scheduled events. A picnic area. A few play grounds. Trails to walk. Centralized bath houses (didnt get to go in and check them out but they cleaned them several times a day). Dog friendly. Lots of kids. Definitely recommend for a nice quiet get away"
