"While I was in town over the summer I came here twice, having Martha both times. There is a small deposit to secure your appointment. Martha texted me the day before to ask if I had a picture of what I wanted for both appointments. Martha is so warm, welcoming, kind and gentle. She was careful with my baby hair and periodically asked if the hair was too tight or hurting. We had small talk here and there but she isn’t overly chatty which I LOVE! Martha also works quickly and is intentional with that she’s doing, I appreciated her so much. There were three other women working there the second time, one I can safely assume is the owner: Millicent, Veronica and Shana. There were a lot of smiles, laughs and light-hearted conversations between them. There were a couple of younger ladies that came in who immediately jumped in to assist the stylists with braiding, they had such sweet spirits as well. Overall, this shop has such a wonderful and positive energy. The stylists are professional, the prices are reasonable and the service is astounding. I will definitely be back here when I’m in town."

"This was my first time at Braid Nation and it was a wonderful experience! I loved how they had gospel music playing in the background and also wonderful conversation. "I do not recommend this place as the owner does not conduct an honest business. I booked an appointment for small knotless goddess braids and received medium box braids with only a small few that were knotless. The curly hair used for the goddess look was absolutely horrible. The hair was so frizzy and bushy that when I got home I ended up cutting all the curly hair out and just put my hair into a bun. This was after I attempted to use moose and gel to tame it. The only positive things I can say is that it was a good environment and my braids were not too tight. But overall I'm very disappointed especially since the owner did my hair. She took some money off the price but I will not use her service again."

"I paid $240 for my 17 year old daughter to get knotless braids waist length. We are from Philadelphia and have never had any issues with the braid shop that has done her hair multiple times through the years. Braid nation swindled $240 for extra large Not proportioned box braids that someone could have done for $75 sitting on the damn steps. Horrible absolutely horrible. Do not go here you will regret it! $240 stop playing y’all had one of y’all kids experimenting in my daughters hair! These B****** are crazy!"
