Stony Brook Southampton Hospital

"If you want to live, DO NOT go to Southampton Hospital! My husband walked in first to let them know I have Covid (#1). I did my registration and they asked what I was there for. I told them I have Covid and was having trouble breathing (#2). I saw the triage nurse and told her I HAVE COVID AND WAS HAVING TROUBLE BREATHING!!! (#3). I sat there for almost an hour before they called me in. An aide, I believe, asked me to change into a gown n she hooked me up to a heart monitor. I told HER, I HAVE COVID AND I'M HAVING TROUBLE BREATHING!! (#4). I was wheezing and my oxygen was down to 92%. After an HOUR of waiting, I rang the call bell. I told her, "I can't breathe, I need a breathing treatment and my hand is feeling tingly. When is somebody coming in to see me!?" She said oh no... let me check. NOBODY CAME BACK!!! I rang the bell again and told a different nurse... I HAVE COVID. I CAN'T BREATHE!!!!!!!! Can I have a breathing treatment!! (#5). She told me they were busy and she'd have to ask MY NURSE!!! I never saw ANYBODY once I got in the room, so I have no clue who "My Nurse" was!!! I jumped up n said forget it!! My hands were tingling and I couldn't breathe!! THEN, THEN!!!! A doctor rushes in!! I said FORGET IT!!! I have COVID and I CANNOT BREATHE!! I'm leaving!! He had the nerve to say VERY SURPRISED, oh, you have COVID!!!??????? Hmmmm.... I think I told FIVE PEOPLE I HAVE COVID AND I CANNOT BREATHE!!!!! I said, I don't care who you are!!! This hospital is a JOKE!! I don't want to die. I'm leaving!!!! I pulled the heart monitor off n walked out!!! I would rather die at home. I wouldn't go there for a splinter in my finger or if I'm actually dying!!!! I'd get myself to Peconic Bay in Riverhead!!! The absolute WORST CARE EVER!!! They were "BUSY" so me not being able to breathe was NOT a priority! And check ALL THE REVIEWS... It's not just me!! They SUCK!!!!! The one star is for the concierge lady, otherwise they’d get a NEGATIVE rating!!!"

"My father ended up here for emergency gallbladder surgery on New Years Eve. His surgery was done by Dr. George Keckeisen. This was not by any means a simple surgery as my father had part of his stomach removed a year and a half ago for stomach cancer. Dr, Keckeisen did this complicated surgery and had him back in our care within 4 days. I can not begin to tell you how incredible the entire staff was. How kind and attentive to me and most of all, my dad. Dr. Keckeisen and the entire staff kept us informed every step of the way. Dr. K even gave me his cel phone number and answered immediately when I called. I could write pages about each and every wonderful human being I encountered, from their security dept, to nurses, to admin, to the cleaning staff. I am trying to be concise. I would also like to add that this hospital is clean and well maintained. My entire family works in healthcare. Though the hospital is in Brooklyn. So I know a thing or two about this industry. I can tell we've never had a better experience than we did at this facility."

"I’m home recovering from ambulatory surgery today at Stony Brook Southampton Hospital. I cannot say enough about how prompt, professional, thorough and clearly communicative the staff was today. From the valet parking attendant to the nurses aid who escorted me to the parking lot, I was in competent hands. Thank you."

"I would give no stars if I could. First they try to register him as a different person in the ER even though we gave them his driver's license then we waste a whole day and sit in the radiology department for an hour before finally being told the machine they need is broken."
