"The Poindexter Nature Preserve is an absolutely wonderful place to spend time in nature. This beautiful preserve situated in the heart of Connecticut, offers visitors a chance to experience the natural beauty and wildlife in a peaceful and serene environment. One of the things that makes the Poindexter Preserve so special is its hiking trails. The trail system takes about an hour to walk in its entirety so it is a great fit for a short, easy walk In addition to hiking, there are many activities to enjoy at Poindexter preserve. Bird watching is particularly popular as it is the home to a wide variety of bird species including hawks, owls, and bluebirds. The only downside is that parking is limited. There are spots for three or four cars on the side of the road opposite the entrance to the preserve. Overall, I would highly recommend a visit to the Poindexter Preserve. Whether you're an experienced hiker or simply looking for a peaceful place to reconnect with nature, this preserve has something to offer everyone. With its stunning scenery, diverse wildlife, and low usage, Poindexter is the true gem that should not be missed. More information and directions is available on the Aspetuck Land Trust website"
"Not bad didn't like the parking idea at all. their are a few places to park on both sides of the road I would not suggest by the gate at all. if you park on the other side be careful cars fly around the corner, trails were decent white and red only confusing I had was coming back you pass the field loop and don't go down the dirt road close to a house just follow the white black arrow a little tircky to see. red trail did have a few hills nothing major"
