"My mother and I had the pleasure of dining at Oko in Rye. Marysol and Sarah provided great service! They knew the menu inside and out and elevated our entire dining experience. Both couldn’t have been any nicer. With regards to the food. Everything was top notch. We were super impressed by the Marinated King Salmon Poke with smoked soy, white miso aioli, arugula, and nori. The Lotus Root Tempura. The Uni Toast with milk bread, umeboshi, goat’s milk butter, and smoked trout roe. The Pork Belly Boa with squid caramel, black garlic aioli, and napa kimchi. And, the Cedar Smoked Black Cod Nigiri with crispy beets, and horseradish. Oko is a small intimate space great for an evening out, serving top quality food and staffed with even greater people!!"

"Cod and salmon sushi were good. Tuna poke was average. The chicken dumplings were not good. Unsure if I would recommend the restaurant to others at this time. Expensive for what you get in terms of taste and portion size (need about 5-6 individual orders to make it a filling meal for two)."

"The service was excellent, the vibe great, BUT the food awful. The eggplant was bitter and greasy, the bao bun cold and pork chewy and minuscule in portion size. The nigiri was served warm!! The uni on top of the stringy fine tuna was not a whole piece and not creamy and tasteful as it should be. I was unfortunately very disappointed."

"Beautiful interior with equal level food. Amazing portions and delicately crafted sushi. We came here for a family style dinner for a party of 5 and ordered the 10 piece sushi, 3 hand roll, the oko sandwich (which was great) and the set (which was also really great). Nice spot in Rye for Japanese cuisine. Highly recommend."

"Food 6/10 Honestly it’s quite solid seafood, but some of the flavor combinations for the omakase set just did not hit and did not make sense. The Nigori was quite yummy, and paired well with the sashimi. Not the freshest seafood I’ve had, but it was still very solid, albeit being a bit overpriced. The tempura was lovely though. Atmosphere 7/10 Very bustling little restaurant in Rye, despite it being 8pm on a Thursday night. Super cute interior, clean cut and minimalistic. Service 10/10 We sat at the bar and I loved our bartender. She was super helpful and let me try a sake that I did not end up ordering. It was quite busy, but she was trying her best and I really appreciated that."
