Lorenzo's Ristorante Italiano

"Lorenzo’s use have good food but in recent years have fallen short of taste and quality. I figured I would give them another chance so called to place Christmas Eve dinner entrees. I called twice in the prior weeks to be certain and both their answers were to call the day of Christmas Eve by noon. Well, it’s noon of Christmas Eve and I was just told I was out of luck and that I was misinformed by both their employees of Lorenzo’s! No apology, and could care less of ruining Christmas Eve plans. Don’t bother with an establishment like this! I’m sticking with Biagetti’s who has great service and fantastic food!!"

"It was a Thursday evening around 6pm. The dining room was empty. The kitchen got my order totally wrong. So the waiter brought it back into the kitchen. They did a quick fix thinking it would be okay. But it only showed me they did not care at all because it still was not what I had ordered. My dish was brought back to me ice cold. It was not even reheated. They really don't even deserve a 2. I'm actually being nice. I went with a friend of mine and although they did get her meal correct, she said it wasn't good at all. They have really gone downhill. I was supposed to be going back there with 7 other friends for a holiday dinner we do every year. But after this experience I changed our plans and we will now be going to Apps."

"More Gluten Free options than I expected. Unfortunately, the menu is not marked with what is (or can be) gluten free, just that Gluten pasta is available. So, be prepared to ask about multiple items. I only asked about a few items... Their Alfredo and Vodka sauces are Gluten Free. Their meatballs are not. I thought the Gluten Free penne alfredo with grilled chicken was good. They also have GF pizza, but pizza wasn't on the menu we had. I didn't have it so can't comment on quality. Service was very good."

"I cannot speak highly enough about the baby shower that was held at Lorenzo's for my daughter yesterday. When we arrived that morning, the tables were already set up and arranged perfectly with the white and blue linens we had requested. It was quite obvious that Antoinette went above and beyond with minor details to make the event perfect in every way. Our two waitresses and bartender were very personable with the guests and attentive to our needs throughout the shower. As usual, the food was outstanding, as evidenced by the many compliments we received from our guests. As a proud resident of West Haven for 68 years, I was happy to support one of my favorite local restaurants. I want to thank Antoinette and her entire staff for making this special occasion so memorable for us."
